I've decided to book a last minute holiday with a few close friends to Tenerife on Sunday so as you can imagine the last minute holiday shopping has taken place, ever so stressful! We've also only booked to take hand luggage so that's a limit of 10kg which is probably going to be the biggest struggle of my LIFE! I'm not a light packer to say the least...

So today was spent rushing around the Bullring trying to get hold of some denim shorts, bikinis and general tops for my holiday. The weather's turned pretty grim again so my neutral outfit wasn't one of the best ideas I've had! I borrowed this cardigan off my mum and it doesn't actually have a label in it anymore so I can't tell you where it's from. I love the beige/ taupe shade and the light floaty chiffon hemline makes it an ideal cover up for the warmer months. I'm also wearing my new Topshop Jamie ripped jeans which I've been trying to hunt down for forever! They've pretty much sold out in all sizes online and I managed to track them down in the Oxford Street store last week. They're the perfect fit - slightly high waisted and a much thicker denim fabric than the Joni jeans so they tend to suck you in more and fit more like a jean rather than a legging. If they come back in stock I would highly recommend, they're the perfect casual Summer jean!

I've finaaaaally finished University!!! And can now continue resuming with my blog a lot more and also working on some exciting new up and coming projects! I've also recently accepted a job offer as a designer/ buyer at Own The Runway so I'll be moving to Manchester next month... all very exciting and hectic but worth the stress! I've also gone absolutely mad on Depop lately and selling lots of items including clothing, shoes, jewellery and make-up so make sure you check it out (@lydiafayejones).

Onto my outfit...this is from a few days ago as I haven't really had much time to post since finishing Uni and moving back home to the Midlands. I bought this Topshop high neck vest sometime last year and it's a top I always go to if I'm looking for something slightly smarter than a plain cotton vest. I like the silky soft fabric and the high neckline makes it easy to dress up with a statement necklace. I'm also wearing my new floral Joni jeans which I've been hunting high and low for over the past few weeks! I managed to track them down in the Oxford Street store last week so I'm not too sure if they're available anywhere else/ online. Joni jeans are my absolutely favourite style of Topshop jeans, I love the high-waisted fit and the elasticated fabric really sucks you in at all the right places.

I'm also wearing my new Lydia necklace which my parents bought me on a trip to Dubai! I'm also trying to track down the Arabic version on a longer chain so I can wear them both together as I think that will look nice. I'm also crazy about these Primark mirrored sunglasses at the moment...not only are they the perfect style for my (round!) face shape, but for £2 you really can't go wrong!

Keeping It Neutral

I've always been obsessed with neutral/ nude/ taupe tones so it's not surprise that many of my outfits lately consist of that! I bought this Zara colour-block jumper a few months ago and it quickly became a staple item within my wardrobe. I sized up and bought a medium as I found the hemline was quite tight fitting but I also like how this have given the jumper an overall larger slouchy fit. Once again, I've wearing my favourite Asos cropped capri trousers which I'm practically living in at the moment. Not only are they extremely comfortable, I find them really flattering on my body shape and can also be dressed up for the evening with a crop top and a statement necklace. I'm also wearing my old And Other Stories perspex brogues which I bought this time last year when I was living in London. They hurt my feet soooo much but I just love them, especially during the Spring/ Summer season for casual days! My feet look very squashed in this photograph but I can assure you they fit just fine!

Sandal Weather

The weather has been so confusing lately that I've decided to mix up a Winter outfit I wore a few months ago with my new River Island sandals (which I'm in love with by the way!). I purchased this Zara printed blouse back in December and I find it so versatile to wear, either with a pair of dark jeans, tucked into a leather mini skirt or even with some leather trousers. I love the lightweight fabric and the blotchy print adds something different to what could be a fairly plain outfit. I'm also wearing my favourite Zara blue jeans which I've had for quite a while now and always pull out when I'm looking for the perfect blue skinny jean. I was on the hunt for some blue faded jeans a while ago and chose these Zara ones as I find the fit is perfect for anyone with shorter legs than normal like me! I find a lot of Zara trousers measure up quite small so these are probably equivalent to a Topshop 30L. I bought these River Island sandals before I went away to Marbella last month and they haven't left my feet since. I love how they look against a rolled up skinny jean, they can be worn in so many different ways and are ridiculously comfortable!

I am alive...! Just incredibly busy with my final uni deadlines so unfortunately my blog has been forced to take a backseat. My deadlines are at the end of this month so after they've got out the way I can concentrate much more on getting my blog back on track! I managed to squeeze in taking these outfit photos the other day but they're not the greatest quality as the light in my flat is actually getting worse. Once the weather brightens up a little I'll start taking them outside/ on my balcony because the natural light is so much more flattering! I'm wearing this Zara pleated top which features a sort of watercolour effect with pastel shades and floral shapes. I really like the silk pleats against the grey marl sleeves, it gives off a smart but casual look and it can be worn with so many different things. I've paired it with my favourite Asos skinny cropped trousers which I practically live in at the moment. They're the perfect stretch fabric and don't loose their fit in the wash (I've washed them about 50 times already!). I also tend to wear these on a night out with some form of crop top or vest so they're really versatile and a great plain pair of trousers for the Summer season.
