After a regretfully heavy weekend, this morning was one of those 'please don't make me get out of bed in the cold' times! I've spent the entire day in the studio making up my final designs into actually garments so as you can imagine, comfort is key. I've worn one of my favourite Topshop tunics which is incredibly simple and really easy to wear. The back panel is a pastel pink but I haven't managed to take any photos of it where at a good angle. I'm also wearing my trusty Zara blue denim jeans which I haven't stopped wearing for the past month or so. I've probably said this before, but they're the ideal faded blue skinny jean and seem to be of a good quality.

I bought these River Island knee-high boots a while ago and wore them in a recent blog post but you couldn't really see them against the black jeans I was wearing. Here they are much more visible although I still wasn't able to get a good shoe shot of them. I searched high and low for the perfect knee-high boot, the heel was too high on many and I was looking for something blocky and suitable for the day time. These were £100 which isn't exactly cheap but I'm hoping they last me a good few seasons!

Pink Bomber

So today I've been extremely busy getting all my university coursework done so I'm really surprised that I've managed to squeeze some blogging time in! I always try my hardest to keep up to date with new posts and outfits but my course is really demanding. I actually went into uni really early today to catch up on some practical work so got ready in a bit of a rush when I realised I'd overslept by an hour! I ended up wearing this H&M pink bomber jacket which has been sitting in my wardrobe for about 6 months and I can't explain why I haven't worn it! I think during the summer I just completely forgot I even had it and now I absolutely love it. The shade of pink isn't too baby pink, it kind of sits in between pastel and salmon pink. You can't really tell from the photos but the hardware such as the zip and buttons are actually rose gold so it's me all over.

I've worn it with this Topshop daisy print top which I've worn to death especially over the Summer. It's such an easy top to wear and I always find myself reaching for it when I can't decide. I've also worn my Topshop ripped jeans which are actually getting a little baggy on me now. I haven't tumble dried them in a while so might try that, apparently it's meant to make your clothes a little tighter? Hopefully I don't take them out and they're half the size they were before...

Time For Tartan

top: missguided
jeans: asos
boots: zara
scarf: h&m
bag: new look
earrings: h&m
watch: michael kors
rings: h&m
nails: essie 'blanc' and No.7 limited edition gold glitter
lips: mac dubonnet

I've never been a huge fan of tartan as it can so easily look tacky but this season everyone seems to be going wild for it! I've seen some lovely subtle pieces in Zara but they're pretty pricey for what they are. For the mean time, I've settled with my trusty H&M tartan scarf which I bought this time last year. It's absolutely huge and literally the cosiest thing ever so perfect for those chilly mornings like today. I've worn it with this Missguided knitted t-shirt which I actually think it meant to be a dress but it's ridiculously short. And that's coming from me standing at 5'4! I've paired it with my favourite Asos Ridley ripped jeans which I've been wearing non-stop over the past week. They're super comfortable and despite the draught coming through my knees, they are perfect for this season.

I've also got round to re-doing my nails at long last and went for one of my favourite all-year round shades - Essie 'Blanc'. This polish is the perfect crisp white shade for Winter and really lasts on my nails well. I've also used the No.7 Limited Edition Gold Glitter on an accent nail which I picked up during the Christmas period last year. It's so sparkly and eye-catching so felt I'd join in a little with the festive spirit. I'm also wearing Mac 'Dubonnet' lipstick which is the perfect shade of dark red that I spent searching for last year. It's part of the 'Amplified' collection so the colour is very pigmented and the finish has a slight sheen which is good as it prevents my lips from drying out.

Marisota 12 Nails of Christmas

jumper: topshop
jeans: zara
boots: zara
handbag: céline
earrings: h&m
bracelet: marc by marc jacobs
watch: michael kors
ring: marc by marc jacobs
lips: topshop 'whimsical'
nails: essie 'big spender' and barry m white nail art pen*

So last week I was sent a lovely box of goodies from Marisota with the challenge of creating a Christmas nail look. I used to love all the glitz and glam on my nails but lately I think a more simplistic look is better. I still wanted to create something different to my usual look so I used Essie 'Big Spender' polish which is a lovely rich festive purple and coated this using the Essie Top Coat. I then used the Barry M white nail art pen to create the festive stripes going vertically and horizontally on the accent nail. I really like this simple look, I think it looks effective and is different from how I usually wear my nails. I have to say, the nail art pen was a little tricky so a bit more practice is needed for the future!

To go with my nails, I'm wearing my new Topshop fluffy leopard print jumper which is actually the comfiest jumper in the world! I love these hairy/ eyelash textures at the moment, they're so soft to wear and really keep me warm. I've paired it with my favourite Zara blue jeans which are the perfect jeans for this season. It took me so long to find the exact shade of blue I was looking for, not too light but still with a little fading down the leg. I also haven't taken these Zara cleated sole boots off since I bought them a few weeks ago, they are the ideal day boot for me with a slight heel. I love cleated sole shoes at the moment and it's an added bonus if they stop me from slipping over in the icy weather next week!

Pink & PVC

jumper: topshop

So today was a bit of a Topshop overload by the looks of things! I've bought quite a few items from Topshop recently so it doesn't surprise me that 90% of my outfit is from there. One of the items being this beautiful pink fluffy jumper which is sooo incredibly soft and warm! I usually hate fluffy/ hairy jumpers because I find them too thick and heavy but this is surprisingly lightweight and doesn't feel at all itchy. I love contrasting textures at the moment so I've worn the jumper with my vinyl mini skirt which I bought a few months ago. I've only really worn this on evenings so it's quite refreshing to mix it up with a day time outfit. I'm going crazy for anything and everything PVC or vinyl at the moment and Topshop have some amazing pieces in so be sure to check them out.

Lusting After #56

I'm back in my usual shopping mode after my dry spell and now there's a ridiculous amount of things I want at the moment! Lets start off with a few items from River Island... first up is this wet look lace crop top which has just come onto the website. I'm loving lace at the moment and the fact this has a wet look effect makes it even more appealing! This could be worn layered over a nude crop top with a pencil skirt for an evening look or layered over a casual dress. I'm also loving this River Island check mini skirt which is so Clueless! I've seen a similar style in Topshop but I much prefer the pastel shades within this one. River Island are also producing some really lovely mongolian fur items at the moment including this pastel pink mongolian fur collar. Although these items are slightly pricey, they're great for Winter and add that extra chic factor to an outfit.

I haven't bought much from Topshop lately, but I'm really liking this cute striped crop top with a high neck. I've been wearing lots of high neck items lately and this would be great paired with high-waisted jeans or a high-waisted leather skirt. Similarly, this Topshop floral crop top could be worn in the same way. I'm not a huge fan of florals but I love love love Winter florals. The dark tones and subtle prints are definitely more my style. I'm also dying to buy these Topshop fluffy nude heels but I can imagine totally wrecking them within 5 minutes of wearing them!

Next up, from Boohoo I really love these zip front leather trousers as I've been wearing lots of leather at the moment whilst braving the cold weather. I'm not sure what these would look like in person so I'm slightly wary about ordering them as sending them back is such a faff! I also love this H&M jumper for the colder weather at the moment, it looks so cosy and warm and would look great contrasted against my Topshop vinyl mini skirt or some leather trousers.

I've been looking for some new necklaces lately and this Asos vintage gold plated necklace has really caught my eye. I don't often wear long necklaces but I think they are much more suitable and subtle for during the day time. For the evening, I love this bright fuchsia pony skin clutch bag which is an exact dupe of the Zara one which is no longer available. This would really pop against any outfit and would be great for clashing against prints and creating texture.

Lastly, I've always been a big fan of Kurt Geiger and these black cleated sole boots are no exception! They're incredibly pricey for what is quite a simple black boot but the quality of the designs are always so good. I'm also in love with this Kurt Geiger knitted scarf with a little fur pocket on the front. I don't actually own many Winter scarves so this could be a really good investment!

Rips & Red Lips

jumper: topshop
jeans: asos
boots: zara
handbag: givenchy
necklace: topshop
bracelet: marc by marc jacobs
ring: marc by marc jacobs
watch: michael kors
nails: essie 'big spender'
lips: topshop 'heartbeat'

I've been looking for the perfect pair of ripped blue jeans for such a long time now and at last Asos has come up with the goods! These are the 'Ridley' style jeans which are high-waisted and also quite stretchy so they're easy to move around in. I know the rips are a little extreme but I absolutely love them! They're also available in a darker blue so if you're looking for some ripped jeans I would really recommend these. I'm also wearing my old Topshop sequin jumper which I bought during the colder months last year. I love how this really subtly twinkles when it catches the light, it's not too in your face and doesn't scream Christmas!

I've been shopping a little more lately after my dry spell so hopefully sometime this week I will get round to posting a 'Today I Bought' post of all my latest goodies. I haven't done one of those posts in such in a long time! But with deadlines and a pile of uni work waiting for me at my desk, I haven't had much time to blog or do anything else for that matter!

Knee-High

jumper: topshop
leggings: american apparel
knee-high boots: river island
bag: river island (old)
earrings: topshop
bracelet: marc by marc jacobs
ring: marc by marc jacobs
watch: michael kors
nails: opi 'don't pretzel my button'
lips: mac 'shanghai spice'

So I was all excited about showing my new boots off today and I've just realised you can't even see them properly in these photos, boo! I couldn't get a shot of them as I didn't have anyone to help me and because there's no natural light in my apartment the photos are quite dark. I need to experiment with taking photos next to the windows but there's not much empty wall space. If you want to have a closer look you can see them on my Instagram (@lydiafayejones). I've worn them with my American Apparel lycra high-waisted leggings and a ripped Topshop jumper which I've had for years. There's actually quite a lot of dupes of these jumpers around at the moment, I think they've got a good selection on Missguided. I've also had a fair few comments on this River Island mongolian faux fur handbag at the moment. Unfortunately it's not actually in store anymore, I got mine off Ebay but I think there are a few similar ones on there still!

Cos Coat

coat: cos
blouse: zara
jeans: topshop
boots: zara
handbag: givenchy
bracelet: marc by marc jacobs
watch: michael kors
rings: h&m
nails: opi 'don't pretzel my button'
lips: mac 'rebel'

I can't believe I haven't debuted my new Cos coat on here even though I've had it for a few weeks now! How amazing is it? I've never really bought anything from Cos but always admire the minimalistic styles and classic shapes. I thought this would be the perfect Autumn/ Winter coat as it's really snuggly but also quite lightweight at the same time so doesn't feel too heavy when layered up. I'm also wearing my new Zara printed blouse which I spied on the website a few weeks ago and had to purchase. I love the sort of watercoloured/ blurred print and the subtle colours used. It goes so well with a plain pair of jeans and some simple jewellery as the blouse does all the talking.

I purchased Mac 'Rebel' lipstick months ago during the Summer and this is the first time I've actually worn it. I love a good dark lip during the Winter but I was still crushing over my Tom Ford 'Black Orchid' and completely forgot about this! It's quite a bright dark purple if that makes sense, although I really like the smooth glossy texture as it prevents my lips from drying out. I've used a Chanel 'Vamp' lipliner so keep it looking neat which is a great plum shade for using on all dark lip shapes, highly recommend!
