Lusting After #55

I'm taking advantage of the one lazy Sunday I've had in weeks which only means one thing - internet shopping! I've been going through a bit of a spell lately where I haven't wanted to buy anything in the shops but now I'm on the opposite end of the scale and want everything! First up, this Topshop mesh panel knitted top which would be such a good staple item for the Winter paired with casual jeans or a smart midi skirt on the evenings. From Topshop, I also really love this sheepskin coat which is wayyy out my price range but a girl can dream! The matching sheepskin handbag is also to die for but I just can't justify the £280 price tag. Hopefully some cheaper alternatives will hit the high street soon. I'm after a new pair of evening heels and these Topshop Stockholm heels really remind me of the classic Miu Miu heels with the flared heel. They're pretty plain and simple but they would go with everything and the chunky heel makes them easy to walk in.

I hadn't actually ever bought anything off Boohoo until last week and now it's become one of my new favourites. I love this Boohoo tartan smock dress just for wearing during the daytime with some chunky boots and a fedora hat. I think this Boohoo statement necklace is also really lovely as I haven't been keen on any statement necklaces in such a long time. Another necklace I found is this River Island gold chain necklace which has taken my fancy, especially as it's only priced at £18. I don't usually like chunky chains as I find they can look quite cheap but the combination of pearl stones make it look more expensive. I've also been lusting after these amaaaazing River Island mongolian fur bag which I absolutely have to have! I loved the ombré version which I featured on my last 'Lusting After' post but this one is so much better. It's pretty loud and vibrant but it would definitely stand out on these dull Winter days.

River Island have also got some really lovely shoes in at the moment including these nude and black chunky heels which need to be my new going out shoes! I've completely wrecked my favourite Kurt Geiger's so these would be the perfect replacements. I also love these River Island zip patent boots for the day time with some ripped skinny jeans and an oversized jumper. They're also available in black but I think this taupe shade is more unique and stands out. I think this Asos leather backpack would also go so perfectly with these boots as I'm really into mixing leather and textures at the moment. I've never used a backpack as I'm more of a handbag girl but I think I could work this!

I'm after a new watch and as always, a new Michael Kors beauty has stolen my attention. I think this wrap around style is so simplistic and different from my usual rose gold sparkler. It would be perfect for the Winter season so this is definitely going at the top of my Christmas wish list. I'm also loving these Whistles Rivington clutch bags which I've been lusting after for a while now. This shade of peachy pink is my all time favourite colour and would go perfectly with so many evening outfits I have. Lastly, I'm after this H&M crop top just as a staple item for my wardrobe to be worn with a fitted midi skirt or some high-waisted trousers. I seem to be wearing the same outfits every time I go out at the moment so this might help me switch things up a little!

I finally got the chance to do some shopping last weekend and picked up this lovely Whistles leopard print top which I've had my eye on for a while. I don't usually purchase many things from Whistles as they're fairly expensive but luckily this had been reduced in the sale. I own quite a lot of neon leopard print items but this monochrome/ grey tone is more suitable for the Winter months. I picked up a size 6 as it was the only size left but I think it measures up quite large as I'm usually an 8. I've worn it with my Topshop Leigh jeans which I haven't worn since last year. The denim is a very dark acid wash which isn't that clear in the photographs but you can kind of see up closer. I love the stretch of these jeans, they're incredibly comfortable and flattering. I haven't bought a good pair of jeans in ages and I really need a good pair of ripped indigo jeans so I'm on the look out!

I feel like I'm constantly apologising for not blogging lately but my Uni work is so crazy at the moment! As much as I love blogging and taking the time to create my posts, it's incredibly time consuming when I'm in my final year and have so much going on. However, I'm trying my best to keep up with it all and that's the best I can do!

I haven't got dressed up during the day for a while since I've been stuck in my flat doing work but today I had a number of tutorials to attend. I bought this Asos pink fluffy top last week and it was the only thing I kept from my order. As much as I love online shops such as Asos and Missguided, I'm constantly returning items all the time due to sizing issues/ not looking the same on the website. It's pretty annoying with Missguided as they take a cut from your payment to process the refund but I have a premier membership with Asos which is much better. I love the pink fluffy texture of the top, in fact I love everything pink and fluffy at the moment. I feel like I'm channelling my inner Cher Horowitz or something! I've worn it with my River Island black tube pants which I wear time to time when my jeans are in the wash. I can't say they're great for keeping their shape but they are better than the Topshop Joni jeans!

I've had a few people ask about my River Island mongolian fur handbags which I've been obsessing over at the moment! Unfortunately they're not from the new season, I managed to track them down from a seller on Ebay and luckily won the bids which I never do! I swear the excitement and stress just makes me press all the wrong buttons. I'm pretty sure they will bring some similar ones out again soon as mongolian fur is set to be a big trend again for Autumn/ Winter so keep your eyes peeled.

Black Orchid

I mentioned recently that I haven't been feeling very inspired by anything in the shops at the moment, but this has actually had two rather positive effects. The first obviously being that I've spent zero money on clothes and the second being I've been forced to raid my wardrobe and pull out some old favourites. I bought this Asos oversized ombré t-shirt years ago, back when the whole ombré phenomenon had just begun. I do still actually like ombré items but some can look really cheap and nasty. I still love this oversized t-shirt, it goes with absolutely anything and you can wear it loose over jeans or tied into a knot at the side like I have to create a tighter fit. I've worn it with my new favourite River Island pleather trousers which I've been wearing all week. I've seen they now have an ultra glossy pair in store and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted!

I'm obsessing over dark lips now that we are in the full swing of Autumn/ Winter and I'm pretty glad as I was getting a little sick of coral/ orange lips. I've dug out some of my old dark lipsticks, including this beautiful Tom Ford shade 'Black Orchid'. I've got a fair few Tom Ford lipsticks and although they're ridiculously expensive, I think they are probably the best out there. I wore this all day yesterday and didn't have to reapply once, even after tucking into my Pret lunch! There are probably cheaper dupes out there that do pretty much the same job but there's still something about Tom Ford that just does it for me. Anybody that knows me, knows my scent as the Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume, so it's no surprise that the matching lipstick will now be my new favourite lip look!

I've been completely bogged down with Uni work over the past few days, panic has suddenly set in with how much I've got to do! My boyfriend treated me to sushi and cocktails last night to give me a break so I finally changed out of my pyjamas! I bought this Zara jumper during the Summer months and it became a favourite of mine paired with pastel jeans or denim shorts. However, I do think it's wearable during the colder months too as long as it's worn with darker colours. I've paired it with my new River Island pleather jeans which are definitely going to become a staple in my Winter wardrobe. I love the glossy finish of the pleather, they're great for creating an outfit with contrasting textures and are actually surprisingly comfortable. The only problem is, you can here me squeaking from a mile off!

I don't usually purchase second-hand items from Ebay but I was dying for a mongolian fur handbag after seeing some in the shops lately. As much as I love the River Island oversized ombré handbag, I don't think I'm willing to splash out £150. I found this mini River Island mongolian handbag and managed to win the bid for £15 which is a much better price tag. It's the perfect bag for Winter and could also be used during the evening as it's fairly small. I love the contrast of texture between the glossy leather and mongolian fur, so be prepared to see a lot more of this lately!

Jacquard Floral

I've finally got round to posting some outfit photographs after completely abandoning my blog last week! It was also due to the fact I hadn't bought any new clothes in a while so I was feeling a little uninspired by what was in the shops at the moment. I ended up buying this lovely River Island jacquard floral top on the weekend after spying it on the website. I think it's such an easy top to wear but really stands out and could be dressed in so many ways. I'm a big fan of texture this season so I love the velvet touch contrasted against the high shine of my American Apparel leggings. I have to say, over the past few months I really went off leggings and swayed more towards jeans. I haven't worn these leggings in about 6 months and if you've been following my blog for a while you'll know that I used to wear these religiously! I quite liked the comfortable feel of them today and the shiny lycra fabric is a nice change from my usual jeans.

I remember last year I was searching for the perfect dark red lipstick which was actually quite hard to find as most of them have a very purple undertone. I managed to find Sleek's 'Vamp' which is the perfect shade of dark red for the Autumn/ Winter season. This year, I've pulled it out the depths of my make-up bag again as it's still the only deep red lipstick shade I've been able to find. I do find this lipstick can be quite drying as it has a really matte finish but a little bit of lipgloss on top prevents this. Have you found any perfect dark red lipsticks for this season?

Shanghai Spice

I feel like I've literally ran out of clothes lately so a major shopping trip is in order. Although does anyone else feel like nothing in the shops are currently taking their fancy? Usually I have a list as long as my arm of things that I want but lately I haven't bought anything. And if you read my blog regularly, you'll know thats highly unusual for me! I've been wearing this River Island split back jumper so much lately as it's the only white jumper I own. The fabric is really lightweight which makes it easy to wear, especially when I'm trekking around uni all day and the weather is so up and down. I'm also wearing my Zara tropical print jeans which I bought ages ago whilst I was on holiday. I love these jeans to death but they've lost their stretch so much lately! I've tried tumble drying them to tighten the fabric but it hasn't mad a difference, any recommendations?

Since I haven't been spending any money on clothes lately, I decided to stock up on some Mac make-up which is always a death sentence! I ended up buying some new eyeshadows and blushes as well as this 'Shanghai Spice' lipstick which really took my fancy. 'Shanghai Spice' is part of the Cremesheen and Pearl collection so it's extra moisturising and has a lovely shine to it. The shade is a frosted neutral pink which has a dark rose tone. It has a semi-opaque colour coverage and lasts fairly well on the lips, I really like how it just slightly darkens the natural tone of my lips. I will sure to post a 'Today I Bought' featuring the other Mac products I picked up once I end up actually buying some clothes!

Lusting After #54

I've abandoned my blog so much lately due to an overload of Uni work but I'm really trying to keep on top of it all! I actually took some outfit photographs today so hopefully I'll get to upload those over the weekend. We've just been given our full design briefs and projects so that's why this week has been completely crazy! I'm usually quite good at juggling things so next week should be a little better.

I thought I'd kick things off with a Lusting After posts as I haven't done one of these in a while. That's purely for the fact that there hasn't been much I want lately which is very unusual for me! I think because it's the start of the season, not all of the trends have filtered in yet so I'm gonna wait for the proper Winter warmers. However, I did manage to spy this gorgeous River Island cream faux fur collar coatigan whilst browsing the other day. I love the oversized style, although I'm slightly worried it may be a little long on me? Either way, it's divine and I'm definitely trying it on next time. I also found this River Island ombré mongolian fur bag which I swear they also had in store last year. It's priced at £150 which is extremely high for River Island so I'm not sure I'll be biting the bullet just yet. Lastly from River Island, I found this cream cocoon jumper which just looks so cute and cosy. I don't own many cream jumpers so this would be a wonderful addition to my upcoming Winter wardrobe.

I'm obsessed with anything and everything vinyl/ glossy at the moment and this Topshop midi skirt is no exception. I actually have the mini version and wear it all the time but this would be a better one for nights out. I also love this Topshop pyjama set which I've been eyeing up over the past few days. I really need a new pyjama set as my favourite M&S ones are slowly falling apart! I think the colour combination is beautiful and the fuchsia lace detail really stands out. I also keep moaning about how I really want some knee-high boots and I think I've found the perfect pair, Topshop of course! I tried these neoprene knee-high boots on in the store yesterday and fell in love. They're ultra slimming and really lengthen the legs, only problem is they are £135! I would probably stretch that far if I knew they would last me a long time but I haven't had a good history with the quality of Topshop shoes.

Next up we have this amazing Zara lingerie style tube dress which is bang on trend for this season. I love anything lacey with a big of a grunge edge so this is right up my street. I haven't seen this in the shops yet as I think Leeds is a little behind but I'll definitely be trying it on soon. I also love this Kenzo tiger ring which would be the perfect statement ring to add to my ever growing collection. I'm getting a little bored of my H&M stacking rings as I wear them everyday so this would be a lovely addition. I'm also loving any faux fur accessories at the moment and this Asos multi-coloured handbag really caught my eye. I love the mixture of colours used and I just think this would really stand out against a plain outfit. It's one of those items I would love to own but I just know the fur won't be very soft!

Lastly, I've been watching Youtube videos of the Babyliss Perfect Curl styler and still can't get my head around how it works! I'm really lazy lately when it comes to curling my hair so I've been wearing it straight pretty much every day. I think this new styler is great for when you're in the morning rush and can't be bothered to style your hair, it looks mega quick and easy. I think the only downfall is that all the curls look quite tight and I prefer mine a lot looser and messy. I guess this could be created through styling after all the curling has been done though. The curler is priced at £149.99 which is pretty steep for a hair tool but I might test out my friend's first and see how I get along!

Primark Beauty

blouse: primark
jeans: topshop 'joni'
shoes: topshop
handbag: givenchy
necklace: zara
bracelet: marc by marc jacobs
ring: ebay
watch: michael kors
nails: jacava 'damson delight'*
lips: sleek 'barely there'

Can you believe this blouse is from Primark?! I was literally amazed when I saw it in the shops, it really looks like Ted Baker style or something similar. Obviously the quality of fabric isn't as good, but the print and detailing is so beautiful. Luckily, this was the only one left and it was in my size but I've never seen it anywhere else. I love the subtle multi-coloured tones used within the print, it's the perfect Autumn blouse. I've worn it with my Topshop pastel pink Joni jeans which I've been wearing a lot over the past few months. I'm pretty sure these are still available and I recommend trying them on as they're surprisingly flattering which you wouldn't expect.

I wasn't keen on my American Apparel 'Mouse' nails at a second glance so I ended up changing them last night. I went for this lovely Jacava 'Damson Delight' polish which is a really rich, dark purple shade. The polish does need a few coats to achieve a darker shade which I prefer to a lighter purple shade. I really rate the Jacava nail polishes, not only are the bottles really lavish but the polish has an ultra glossy finish so I don't need to apply a top coat. You can visit the Jacava website here to browse the collection!
