I haven't done one of these posts in a while so thought I'd keep you up to date with some recent additions to my wardrobe. I've mostly included items which I haven't already featured in my outfit posts so these are all things I have bought fairly recently. I spent the day in London for the Burberry Prorsum show on Monday so I had a mad little spend in Topshop and Selfridges. I'm not too sure if I'm going to keep everything but I'm sooo bad with returning items, I just wanna keep them all!
dress: river island, blouse: primark
I'm not usually a tartan fan, I find it to be one of those prints that comes back every Autumn/ Winter so it doesn't seem very new or exciting. However, I picked up this River Island brushed tartan dress today and I'm planning on wearing it out tonight for my friend's birthday. I think the tartan print is really subtle which I prefer and I also like the shape with the polo neck style. I think I'll dress it up with a statement necklace, some boots and a red lip. I picked up this Primark floral blouse last week whilst aimlessly browsing through all the piles of stock! I found this on it's own and was immediately drawn to the bold floral print and use of colour. I haven't seen this around any other store so I'm not sure if it's available anymore but I absolutely love it.
We all know how much I've loving some neon leopard print at the moment, so this Asos addition is no surprise! I originally saw this on the website a few weeks ago and didn't want to bite the bullet as it was £30. However, after seeing a few people wear it and how nice it looked I couldn't resist. I really like the oversized slouchy style and the print is so bold and really stands out. I bought this from the Petite range as I'm not sure it's available in the regular Asos range but it fits pretty much the same.
dress and leotard: both missguided
I love Missguided at the moment, they just seem to have everything I'm looking for at really good affordable prices. I've been looking for a nude/ brown long sleeved dress for a while now to layer under gilets and jumpers during the Winter. I finally found this mocha dress on the Missguided website within the Sweet Deal section which is full of affordable basics. I really like the mocha colour of the dress, I find it really compliments my skin tone and looks great with rose gold jewellery. I also picked up this Missguided low cut body just as a basic item to wear with shorts or skirts for a night out. I haven't actually worn it yet as I need to invest in some good tit-tape first!
pvc skirt: topshop, midi skirt: zara
I'm loving PVC vinyl skirts at the moment so this Topshop beauty had to be picked up in an instant! I love the high gloss effect, I think it will look so good worn with a fluffy jumper or anything with an extreme contrast texture. I really want the Topshop baby pink PVC pencil skirt but unfortunately it is currently out of stock but fingers crossed they will get some more in! I also bought this Zara ribbed midi skirt to wear during the day with some oversized t-shirts or jumpers to create a casual look. I really like the ribbed fabric as I find it sucks you in at all the right places and gives the outfit some texture.
thigh-high boots: h&m
I've never owned a pair of thigh-high boots so I thought it was about time to invest in a good pair before the weather gets really cold. I found these H&M boots in the Selfridges Oxford Street concession and there were only a couple of pairs left. I thought they were such good value for £69.99 as most pairs I've looked at in Zara or River Island are priced around £100. The heel is quite high so I'm not sure whether I'll wear them too much during the day time. I really love them but I'm worried I won't get very much wear out of them! What do you think?
I featured these Asos pointed shoes in an outfit post recently but wanted to show you a closer photograph of these absolute beauties! I saw these on the website a long time ago and when the limited 20% student discount came about I took the plunge and purchased them. I've worn them so much over the past few weeks as they're incredibly comfortable and really jazz up an outfit. If you are thinking of buying them, I would recommend buying one size larger than usual as they do measure up quite small. I originally purchased them in a size 5 and they were really small so I had to faff around with returning/ exchanging them!
My wonderful mother bought these Zara gold plated ankle boots back from her recent trip to Spain for me and I was over the moon! I'd seen them on the website and mentioned how much I liked them so I was really surprised when she gave them to me. I love the patent leather and the gold plate across the front of the foot. These are definitely statement boots and look so good with a pair of plain black jeans as they really stand out. I'm not sure if they currently stock these in the UK yet as Spain tend to get all of the new collections earlier than we do.
I really needed some new flats to run around in as my current Topshop pair as falling apart! I saw these Topshop tiger flats whilst I was shopping in London and didn't even hesitate about buying them. They were pretty good value at only £24 and these are the kind of shoes I know I'll get lots of wear from. I love the little tiger faces on the front of the shoe, they are definitely in style for this upcoming season. I think they are also available in a dark charcoal shade but you may have to double check on the website.
I've been moaning about how I need a new pair of Winter boots that I can wear everyday for quite some time now, and I finally found them! I absolutely love these shoes, so much that I'm a little scared about wearing them in case I ruin them! I love the bronze effect at the front of the shoe, it kind of looks like a cross between snake print and leopard print. The heel height is also the perfect size as I'm not too good at wearing high heels during the day, especially when I go back to University in a few weeks. These were pretty pricey at £92 but I definitely think they are worth the steep price tag!
I've been after some neoprene ankle boots lately and found these in the Topshop Oxford Street flagship store whilst I was there on Monday. I think these are absolutely gorgeous and will literally go with pretty much any outfit. The heel height is quite high so I doubt I'll be wearing the daily but I think they will be great for dinner and drinks occasions. I mentioned that I might wear the River Island tartan dress out tonight and I think these boots would go perfectly. What do you reckon?
foundation: Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Treatment Foundation
I saw this new Bobbi Brown foundation advertised in a magazine I was reading and thought I'd pick up a bottle whilst I was in London. I tend to stick to my usual YSL Teint Eclat foundation but lately I've been craving something lighter and slightly more dewy. The Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Treatment foundation aims to soften and moisturise the skin whilst still giving good coverage. I would describe this as a cross between the YSL Teint Eclat foundation and Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. It's not as 'cake' as the YSL foundation, it feels lighter and slightly more watery on your skin much like the Chanek foundation yet still gives quite high coverage. I haven't used it enough times to judge whether it has given my skin more moisture or extra softness but I'll keep you posted.
skincare: L'Oreal Skin Perfection 5 in 1 BB Cream and L'Oreal Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur
I invested in some new skincare products a few days ago from the L'Oreal skin perfection range which is available from Boots. I picked up the 5 in 1 BB cream and the Magic Touch Instant Blur in the hope of giving my skin that extra glowy look. I've never really warmed to the whole BB cream hype but when I tested this on the back of my hand it seemed more like a light moisturising foundation. I used it today and found that it actually gives quite good coverage and made my skin look nice and healthy. I definitely found that it made my complexion look really even and covered any red patches or blemishes. I haven't got round to using the Magic Touch Instant Blur yet but I'm planning on using it as a primer underneath my make-up as a base tonight. It felt really smooth and soft when I tested it on the back of my hand so hopefully it will make my make-up look HD and flawless tonight!
