We've finally sorted out the internet at our apartment so I'm back to blogging! I also found a better spot to take my photographs, the previous bedroom ones looked really dull so the hallway lights are much brighter. I'm not sure that I like how shiny they make my face look but we'll work with it!

Today was officially my first day back as a fashion design student and I had a really long practical lesson. I always ignore comfort over practicality hence why my outfit isn't baggy or comfortable! I've always wanted to layer a bralet over a t-shirt but wasn't sure if it would look strange. I decided on this Asos leather bralet layered over a Zara sheer t-shirt as I really loved the contrast between the two fabrics. I think this actually looks really effective but you need to be careful about which shapes and fabrics you layer together. I've kept my look simple with some River Island tube pants which are incredibly flattering and the perfect fit. They're more of a cotton than denim fabric so although they're not very stretchy, they suck you in at all the right places. I'm also wearing my H&M lace-up boots which are some of my all time favourites! I love the monochrome simplicity and the chunky heel makes them easy to walk in during the day.

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect knee-high boots after returning my H&M pair due to the heel height being too high. I found an amazing Topshop neoprene pair but unfortunately they were £135 which is a little more than I'm willing to pay. Luckily, it's the Trinity Leeds student lock-in tonight and Topshop are offering 20% off. I'm tempted to dash over and see if they have any sizes left, my apartment looks right over the shopping centre so it would be rude not to!

Lusting After Avenue 32

sunglasses: cutler and gross
pvc coat: muviel
pvc dress: muviel
pvc skirt: muviel
pink crushed wool skirt: carven
rose gold loafers: 3.1 phillip lim
tortoise shell bag: lena erziak
belt: cedric charlier

This week I've decided to base my 'Lusting After' post around an online retailer as I'm basically wanting everything from Avenue 32! Avenue 32 is an online luxury shopping website which features collections from emerging international talent and global brands such as 3.1 Phillip Lim, Carven and Derek Lam. I could only wish to afford all of these items but it's nice for a girl to dream!

Firstly, I've featured an array of sunglasses by Cutler and Gross which can be found in the accessories section of the Avenue 32 website. I know Summer is long gone, but I'm one of these people who still likes to wear sunglasses on those freezing cold but sunny Winter days. I love the style of these sunglasses, they are so unique and definitely make a statement. My favourite pair are the monochrome oversized round sunglasses as I tend to suit this shape and style. Most of these sunglasses are priced around £300 so they would be an investment that you could wear all year round.

Next up we have this collection of PVC garments from the Japanese brand Muviel which I had actually never heard of until browsing Avenue 32. PVC is set to be a massive trend for this upcoming season and you may already see some pieces trickling into the high street. I love the glossy effect of PVC garments and how they really stand out from the crowd. My favourite piece is the Muviel PVC clear mackintosh coat featuring the large white fur collar. I would love to wear this over a long sleeved knitted dress or really brightly coloured garments to create various illusions. I think this is such a statement piece and although it's priced at £895, I'm still going to keep wishing it falls into my hands one day!

Some other pieces I've picked out from the Avenue 32 website is this beautiful Carven pink crushed woollen skirt. Pink is also set to be a huge trend for this upcoming season and I love this bright shade of baby pink. I would wear this with a smart white shirt tucked into the waistline and a large statement necklace. I'm also loving these 3.1 Phillip Lime loafers as we all know just how much I love rose gold. These would be my ultimate shoes and would go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe! Last up, we have some accessories including this Luna Erziak tortoise shell shoulder bag which immediately stood out to me. I love anything tortoise shell, the pattern is really appealing and I love the neutral tones used. I also love this Cedric Charlier rose gold leather zip belt which would jazz up any outfit. I don't tend to wear belts as I've only recently become comfortable with jeans, baby steps...

I'm all settled in at my new pad in Leeds and it feels so good to be back! It's weird to think I haven't been a student for 18 months and now I'm pretty scared about the massive workload which lies ahead. I attended my induction day today so tonight involves lots of brainstorming and sketching for the start of my projects next week. Typically, our new internet router won't work so I've had to pay £4 using the BT Fon thing, absolute liberty! Oh well, that's blogging dedication for you!

I debated about buying this Topshop polo neck top for so many weeks and finally purchased it yesterday. I'm not a huge fan of polo necks as I find they make my face look even rounder but there was something about this top I really liked. I could never try it on in the shops as I knew I'd get it covered in make-up and feel so guilty! Luckily, it fits like a glove and doesn't have a massive orange mark around the necklace. I love the woven texture of the fabric, it's not too visible in the photos are my lighting isn't great but you can kinda see it close up. I've kept it simple and paired it with my favourite Topshop ripped jeans and some chunky boots. I think this is a great outfit for during the day as it looks smart and chic but still maintains that casual feel which is suitable for uni. However, I doubt I'll be keeping up appearances for much longer when I'm struggling with all my portfolios and design tools!

Astrid Boots

 t-shirt: asos
dress (underneath): h&m
boots: topshop
bag: h&m
necklace: marbella market
earrings: h&m
bracelet: marc by marc jacobs
watch: michael kors
nails: house of holland @ boots

This weather is too up and down for my liking, I don't know whether I'm stepping out in a fur coat or a mini dress! I woke up feeling really hot and sticky, it's so muggy at the moment that I just wanted to wear something light and easy. I decided on this Asos lace over-sized t-shirt which I bought during last Winter but it's so useful to wear all the time. Neutral tones are my favourite so this mink shade really stood out for me. It's quite see-through so I've worn a H&M knitted bodycon dress underneath which you can't really see in the photographs. I've also worn this gorgeous statement necklace which I bought whilst away on my holidays this Summer. I can't believe how long ago that all feels now!

I featured these Topshop Astrid boots on my latest 'Today I Bought' post which included a very naughty boots haul! I decided to return the H&M thigh-high boots as I wasn't sure when I'd wear them but decided to keep these ankle boots. These are so ideal for during the day as the heel is quite low so they are easy to run errands in but still give you a little extra height. I love the bronze snakeskin detailing down the front of the foot, this really stands out against the black leather and shines well. They did rub my feet a little today as I wore them with no socks. I really need some clear socks which sounds so strange but I'm sure thats what pop socks are, right?

Vinyl Skirt

jumper: asos
skirt: topshop
boots: topshop
earrings: topshop
bracelet: marc by marc jacobs
watch: michael kors
rings: h&m

lips: mac 'sushi kiss'

I never thought I'd see the day I'd be wearing a PVC mini skirt during the day but here it goes! I bought this Topshop mini skirt whilst in London this week and it was love at first sight. I've been wanting a PVC glossy skirt for quite some time now but all of them seemed to be that awkward midi length. I think this is the perfect statement skirt and it can be worn during the day or dressed up for the evening. I've worn it with another animal print jumper which I've been obsessing over lately! I bought this Asos one a few weeks ago but since the weather has been so up and down I hadn't had the chance to wear it. I love the contrasting shades of blue and orange, it really stands out and brightens up a rainy day.

I featured these Topshop neoprene boots in my recent 'Today I Bought' post and I'm wearing them for the first time today. Although the heel height is slightly too high for during the day, it's okay for lunch/ drinks which doesn't involve too much walking. I love the simplicity of these boots and the contrast between the matte neoprene and glossy leather. I've seen them in lots of Topshop stores so they are widely available if you fancy checking them out. I think they were priced at £78 which is quite hefty for a pair of boots but I reckon I'll get lots of wear out of them.

Today I Bought #57

I haven't done one of these posts in a while so thought I'd keep you up to date with some recent additions to my wardrobe. I've mostly included items which I haven't already featured in my outfit posts so these are all things I have bought fairly recently. I spent the day in London for the Burberry Prorsum show on Monday so I had a mad little spend in Topshop and Selfridges. I'm not too sure if I'm going to keep everything but I'm sooo bad with returning items, I just wanna keep them all!

 dress: river island, blouse: primark

I'm not usually a tartan fan, I find it to be one of those prints that comes back every Autumn/ Winter so it doesn't seem very new or exciting. However, I picked up this River Island brushed tartan dress today and I'm planning on wearing it out tonight for my friend's birthday. I think the tartan print is really subtle which I prefer and I also like the shape with the polo neck style. I think I'll dress it up with a statement necklace, some boots and a red lip. I picked up this Primark floral blouse last week whilst aimlessly browsing through all the piles of stock! I found this on it's own and was immediately drawn to the bold floral print and use of colour. I haven't seen this around any other store so I'm not sure if it's available anymore but I absolutely love it.

 jumper: asos

We all know how much I've loving some neon leopard print at the moment, so this Asos addition is no surprise! I originally saw this on the website a few weeks ago and didn't want to bite the bullet as it was £30. However, after seeing a few people wear it and how nice it looked I couldn't resist. I really like the oversized slouchy style and the print is so bold and really stands out. I bought this from the Petite range as I'm not sure it's available in the regular Asos range but it fits pretty much the same.

 dress and leotard: both missguided

I love Missguided at the moment, they just seem to have everything I'm looking for at really good affordable prices. I've been looking for a nude/ brown long sleeved dress for a while now to layer under gilets and jumpers during the Winter. I finally found this mocha dress on the Missguided website within the Sweet Deal section which is full of affordable basics. I really like the mocha colour of the dress, I find it really compliments my skin tone and looks great with rose gold jewellery. I also picked up this Missguided low cut body just as a basic item to wear with shorts or skirts for a night out. I haven't actually worn it yet as I need to invest in some good tit-tape first!

pvc skirt: topshop, midi skirt: zara

I'm loving PVC vinyl skirts at the moment so this Topshop beauty had to be picked up in an instant! I love the high gloss effect, I think it will look so good worn with a fluffy jumper or anything with an extreme contrast texture. I really want the Topshop baby pink PVC pencil skirt but unfortunately it is currently out of stock but fingers crossed they will get some more in! I also bought this Zara ribbed midi skirt to wear during the day with some oversized t-shirts or jumpers to create a casual look. I really like the ribbed fabric as I find it sucks you in at all the right places and gives the outfit some texture.

 thigh-high boots: h&m

I've never owned a pair of thigh-high boots so I thought it was about time to invest in a good pair before the weather gets really cold. I found these H&M boots in the Selfridges Oxford Street concession and there were only a couple of pairs left. I thought they were such good value for £69.99 as most pairs I've looked at in Zara or River Island are priced around £100. The heel is quite high so I'm not sure whether I'll wear them too much during the day time. I really love them but I'm worried I won't get very much wear out of them! What do you think?

 shoes: asos

I featured these Asos pointed shoes in an outfit post recently but wanted to show you a closer photograph of these absolute beauties! I saw these on the website a long time ago and when the limited 20% student discount came about I took the plunge and purchased them. I've worn them so much over the past few weeks as they're incredibly comfortable and really jazz up an outfit. If you are thinking of buying them, I would recommend buying one size larger than usual as they do measure up quite small. I originally purchased them in a size 5 and they were really small so I had to faff around with returning/ exchanging them!

 boots: zara

My wonderful mother bought these Zara gold plated ankle boots back from her recent trip to Spain for me and I was over the moon! I'd seen them on the website and mentioned how much I liked them so I was really surprised when she gave them to me. I love the patent leather and the gold plate across the front of the foot. These are definitely statement boots and look so good with a pair of plain black jeans as they really stand out. I'm not sure if they currently stock these in the UK yet as Spain tend to get all of the new collections earlier than we do.

 flats: topshop

I really needed some new flats to run around in as my current Topshop pair as falling apart! I saw these Topshop tiger flats whilst I was shopping in London and didn't even hesitate about buying them. They were pretty good value at only £24 and these are the kind of shoes I know I'll get lots of wear from. I love the little tiger faces on the front of the shoe, they are definitely in style for this upcoming season. I think they are also available in a dark charcoal shade but you may have to double check on the website.

 boots: topshop

I've been moaning about how I need a new pair of Winter boots that I can wear everyday for quite some time now, and I finally found them! I absolutely love these shoes, so much that I'm a little scared about wearing them in case I ruin them! I love the bronze effect at the front of the shoe, it kind of looks like a cross between snake print and leopard print. The heel height is also the perfect size as I'm not too good at wearing high heels during the day, especially when I go back to University in a few weeks. These were pretty pricey at £92 but I definitely think they are worth the steep price tag!

 boots: topshop

I've been after some neoprene ankle boots lately and found these in the Topshop Oxford Street flagship store whilst I was there on Monday. I think these are absolutely gorgeous and will literally go with pretty much any outfit. The heel height is quite high so I doubt I'll be wearing the daily but I think they will be great for dinner and drinks occasions. I mentioned that I might wear the River Island tartan dress out tonight and I think these boots would go perfectly. What do you reckon?

foundation: Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Treatment Foundation

I saw this new Bobbi Brown foundation advertised in a magazine I was reading and thought I'd pick up a bottle whilst I was in London. I tend to stick to my usual YSL Teint Eclat foundation but lately I've been craving something lighter and slightly more dewy. The Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Treatment foundation aims to soften and moisturise the skin whilst still giving good coverage. I would describe this as a cross between the YSL Teint Eclat foundation and Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. It's not as 'cake' as the YSL foundation, it feels lighter and slightly more watery on your skin much like the Chanek foundation yet still gives quite high coverage. I haven't used it enough times to judge whether it has given my skin more moisture or extra softness but I'll keep you posted.

skincare: L'Oreal Skin Perfection 5 in 1 BB Cream and L'Oreal Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur

I invested in some new skincare products a few days ago from the L'Oreal skin perfection range which is available from Boots. I picked up the 5 in 1 BB cream and the Magic Touch Instant Blur in the hope of giving my skin that extra glowy look. I've never really warmed to the whole BB cream hype but when I tested this on the back of my hand it seemed more like a light moisturising foundation. I used it today and found that it actually gives quite good coverage and made my skin look nice and healthy. I definitely found that it made my complexion look really even and covered any red patches or blemishes. I haven't got round to using the Magic Touch Instant Blur yet but I'm planning on using it as a primer underneath my make-up as a base tonight. It felt really smooth and soft when I tested it on the back of my hand so hopefully it will make my make-up look HD and flawless tonight!

Burberry Prorsum London Fashion Week

gilet: zara
dress: asos
boots: topshop
socks: topshop
hat: topshop
bracelet: bcbgmaxzaria
watch: michael kors
rings: h&m
nails: house of holland
lips: topshop 'peach sundae'

So yesterday was actually the most amazing day of my life! For those of you who haven't read my blog lately, I was lucky enough to attend the Burberry Prorsum show at London Fashion Week. It was such an amazing opportunity and as I'm a fashion student it was basically a dream come true! The show was absolutely beautiful, definitely my favourite of the season so far! The rose petal falling from the season during the finale was actually the best finale I've ever seen. I also got to meet the likes of Harry Styles (ahhh!) and spotted Anna Wintour, Suki Waterhouse, Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo to name a few!

Anyway, onto the outfit....I panicked for many weeks over what to wear and then decided to keep it fairly casual and simple due to the poor weather. I've also learnt from past fashion week experiences that tottering around in 5 inch heels and a mini dress is just too much effort! I opted for this Zara suede and faux fur gilet which is my favourite piece for this upcoming season. I just think it has such a cool and grungy look to it and goes with pretty much anything. I wore it with this Asos neon floral smock dress which I ordered a few weeks ago. I loved the intricate floral pattern and the touches of neon really made it stand out. I also wore my new Topshop fedora which I haven't taken off since I bought it. I'm actually so glad I wore this because it saved my hair from the worst down pour ever right before the show!
