I mentioned in my last post that I was visiting London for the weekend to do some holiday shopping and I was definitely successful! I was mainly after some casual day wear and pieces I could mix and match to create various looks. When I saw this River Island butterfly kimono it was love at first sight and I had to have it! The intricate detailing of the pattern and beadwork is so beautiful, it will look so lovely over a bikini or plain dress. I picked up a lot of tops from H&M as I love their collection at the moment and I couldn't help myself! My favourites are the H&M Neon pink cami and tiger cami which are extremely lightweight so perfect for the warm weather. I already have the jumper version of the tiger cami and I wear this all the time. I also picked up this H&M crochet dress and 'cities are calling me' top for casual day wear over a bikini. I featured the H&M Tiger jumper on a recent Lusting After post and before I could buy it online they had sold out. This was the only one left in store, it's a size 14 but I quite like the oversized look with jumpers and it's not really that big.
I went a little skirt crazy lately and stocked up on some for nights out as I've been going out a lot more lately since I finished my internship. I've always wanted a staple leather skirt and this Missguided leather and mesh skirt is perfect as the back is a cotton jersey fabric so it's still quite stretchy. I also bought this H&M black leather skirt which is just plain and simple, a good classic item for my wardrobe. Next up we have the Rihanna for River Island knot skirts in grey and black which were the only items I ended up keeping from my online order. I find the sizes for this collection really large so I ended up buying both of these in a size 6. These are great for pairing with a slouchy top and boots during the day or dressing up for a night out with a crop top or body. I also ordered this crazy Asos patterned pencil skirt which is a little out of my comfort zone in terms of both colour and length! The pattern really caught my eye and I actually think this would look really effective with just a plain black or beige top. Lastly from the skirts, I bought this Topshop coral body con skirt which was an absolute bargain at £16. I love the colour and the curved hemline of the skirt, I'd probably wear this during the day with a cami tucked in and some statement sandals.
I featured these Topshop MOM jeans in a recent outfit post and I seriously cannot get enough of them! I bought them in a W28 L30 which is my usual size in Topshop jeans but they are quite tight. I kind of wish I'd bought the W30 now as they can be quite uncomfortable when I sit down but oh well! I also bought these Asos acid wash denim hot pants which aren't something I would usually wear but they look better on. I needed a pair of denim shorts for my holiday for just during the day and these are a good shape and suck you in at the same time. Lastly, we have some beautiful Topshop statement necklaces which I'm crazy about! The gold one has got to be my favourite, I love the intricate detailing of the chains and it looks so effective on. I think this would need to be worn with a very simple outfit so it really stands out. I'm a bit scared to wear it on a night out as I don't want to break it so I'm gonna wait till holiday to wear this one.
