I'm so glad that the festive season is finally over and I can begin to concentrate on my plans for the New Year and moving back down to London. I'm still arranging my internship for January so everything is a bit up in the air at the moment. I need to take a day just to sort myself out and fully concentrate on sending all my emails and confirmations. So little time and so much to do!

I probably shouldn't have gone bowling last night as this wasted about 5 hours of my life and I didn't even win! I wore my brand new Zara coat which my lovely boyfriend bought me for Christmas. I'd had my eye on the white version of this for such a long time but they sold out of my size. I actually prefer the black as it will go with more outfits and won't be such high maintenance to keep clean. I wore it with this new sequin knitted vest from River Island which I picked up in the sales for £10. I have a far few of these knitted vests and I find they come in really useful to pair with leggings during daytime or evenings.

I was lucky enough to receive a second Céline bag for an early birthday present which is absolutely amazing! I love my plain black one but this is more unique with the white face and nude handles/ sides. The size of this is also slightly larger than my black one so will be used more during the day as I am not one to travel lightly!

Lastly, I just want to express my new found love for Tom Ford's 'Coco Ravish' lipstick. I've never been a fan of chocolate brown on the lips but 'Coco Ravish' has a more nude tone and compliments my skin tone. I know the price tag for Tom Ford lipstick is ridiculous but they are good quality and last a long time. I also find they never dry out my lips which is something I really suffer from when wearing full colour coverage on my lips. Hopefully I won't squash the lid on this one...

Boxing Day

blouse: american apparel
disco pants: american apparel
boots: topshop
rose gold cross necklace: primark
watch: michael kors
rings: both topshop
nails: essie 'beyond cozy'
lips: topshop 'beguiled'

I was fortunate enough to receive some Selfridge's vouchers off my family this year and couldn't resist hitting the Boxing Day sales to get all the best bargains. Waking up at 7.30am after many days of drunken festivities is true dedication to shopping! I picked up some lovely bits and pieces - mainly chunky knit jumpers and jewellery. I spent my vouchers on this oversized striped AA shirt which is something I've had my eye on for a long time now. I saw a similar style on the Zara website but they didn't have any left in stock so thought I'd bite the bullet and buy this one instead. I do think AA items are ridiculously over priced for what they are, but they always seem to produce the exact styles I'm looking for. I think this shirt was priced at £52 which is really expensive for such a simple piece but I know I'll get lots of wear out of it so don't feel too guilty.

I paired the blouse with my trusty AA disco pants which have become my best friends recently. I used to think they were only suitable for girls with ridiculously long skinny legs but I think they are flattering on most body types. I've also become addicted to Topshop's 'Beguiled' lipstick at the moment which is a dark plum shade with a slight sheen finish. I love colour on the lip and darker shades like these have definitely dominated my style this season.

Christmas Day

blouse: h&m
disco pants: american apparel
boots: topshop
necklace: topshop
watch: michael kors
ring: topshop
nails: essie 'beyond cozy'
lips: tom ford 'cherry lush'

I'm not sure if it's bad luck uploading these outfit photographs a couple of days late but oh well, the festivities have taken over my calendar so I've been ultra busy! I never really get into the festive mood but I do enjoy all the parties and catching up with old friends. For Christmas Day I decided to wear this white lace blouse which I bought about 3 years ago and rarely wear. I have no idea why because I do really love it but it's just one of those items that has been lost at the back of my wardrobe for years. I paired it with my disco pants which was a massive risk considering the meal I was about to eat! Surprisingly they gave a bit during the day so didn't restrict my appetite!

I'm a big fan of statement necklaces this season so wore an aztec block style necklace which is also an old purchase that rarely gets worn. It's quite tight around the neck so is a bit uncomfortable but it does look really effective when worn with the right outfit. I added a festive touch with the red cherry lipstick. I do think Tom Ford lipsticks are ridiculously expensive but I borrowed this off my mum so saved myself the pennies!

Christmas Eve

blouse: mango
skirt: river island
belt: ebay
boots: topshop
watch: michael kors
ring: topshop
nails: essie 'beyond cozy'
lips: sleek 'vamp'

I'm slightly behind on my blog posts due to the current festivities! I did plan to upload this at some point during Christmas day but the mulled wine unexpectedly went to my head! Every year my family and a few family friends have a Christmas Eve meal at The Lyttleton restaurant nearby where I live. It's a good chance to get my sparkly glad rags out (any excuse!) and catch up with some old friends. I bought this studded blouse whilst I was in Marbella back in the Summer and regularly wear it to work during the day. I paired it with this gold baroque skater skirt which I picked up today and is now annoyingly in the sale, grr! But oh well. It has a really unique mottled velvet texture which I quite like and it's definitely suited to the festive season. I would also consider wearing this during the day maybe with an over-sized black boyfriend jumper or something.

I mentioned in a previous post how I have a new found love for Sleek lipsticks and 'Vamp' is another example. It is a deep blood red shade which I always find difficult to come across as many lipsticks have too much of a purple undertone. I'm also crazy about this Essie nail polish I picked up the other day whilst on my travels. The polish is really iridescent and eye-catching when caught by the light and reflects a very silver gold glitter. The glitter particles are really small so they really do glisten on the nail after about the second coat.

I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas and got everything they wished for! I've certainly been a very spoilt girl this year and also hit the dreaded sales today so will definitely get round to doing a post about my recent purchases.

Top Skin Products 2012

(from left to right):
Vita Liberata pHenomenal Tan
Ren Radiance Perfecting Serum
Clarins High Definition Body Lift
Ren Ultra Moisture Day Cream
Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning
Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy Gel Wash
Botanics Radiant Youth Night Cream

I'm a big skin care routine junkie so rounding up my top favourites was a difficult task! I've combined together all my favourite skin care, body care and tanning products rather than doing them in separate collections as that would take a life time. It's difficult to remember all of the skin products I've tested over the past year but these are the ones that have made an instant transformation of my skin, the ones that I have repurchased and which I will continue using into the New Year.

Vita Liberata pHenomenal Tan

Fake tan is probably one of the most important products to me when it comes to skin care. Come Winter or Summer, I love to have a healthy glow so searching for that perfect tan is something I am willing to do. I've tried so many over the years and Vita Liberata phenomenal Tan is the only tan product I have repurchased over and over again. I used to be a St. Moriz girl but I find now that the colour comes out slightly greeny on my skin and it comes off all patchy. Vita Liberata phenomenal Tan gives my skin the perfect glow without the worry of coming out too orange and really does last about 2 weeks. I also find that it fades rather than comes off in patches so you don't have the almighty task of scrubbing it all off. I also love the fact it doesn't have that strong biscuit smell and I can apply it to my face as well without any spots appearing.

Ren Radiance Perfecting Serum

I'm a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to Ren as I've only recently started purchasing their products over the past month or so. The Ren Radiance Perfecting Serum aims to give skin a smooth touch as well as improve the radiance and any blemishes. I usually apply this underneath my night cream between 3-4 times a week. It glides onto the skin so easily without leaving behind any stickiness and has a lovely fruity scent. I have seen a definite change in my skin since using this product. Not only is my skin much softer but it also looks more even across my general skin tone and brighter under the eyes. Although Ren products are fairly high end in terms of prices, I do think they are worth the extra few pennies as they always give such great results.

Clarins High Definition Body Lift

I am one of those people who has to moisturise their entire body every time they get out the shower, so the perfect body moisturiser is absolutely key for me. I used to use Palmer's Cocoa Butter religiously but after a while I found it was too thick and made my skin greasy. Over the past 6 months I have been using the Clarins High Definition Body Lift which contains tiny beads that aim to give your skin extra firmness and tightness. I can't proclaim that this body cream will give you the body of a super model and encourage any form of weight loss but it has made my skin firmer and improved the overall appearance. The tiny beads are also really refreshing as they burst across the skin and give off that tingling fresh mint effect so you instantly feel rejuvenated.

Ren Ultra Moisture Day Cream

Ren Ultra Moisture Day Cream is my daily moisturiser which I use every morning before I begin my make up routine. It is a really light moisturising cream which doesn't leave behind a greasy residue on the skin and acts as a good make-up base. I don't have extra dry or extra oily skin so for me, this moisturiser is perfect as it isn't aimed at any specific type of skin. This day cream has definitely made my skin softer and has reduced any dry patches I've developed from spots across my chin or forehead.

Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning

I'm always quite scared to use any form of self tanning on my face as I've experienced an increase of spots before when doing so. Lately, I've been on the hunt for a good quality face self-tanning cream which will prevent this from happening. I've settled with Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning as I'm a huge Clarins fan and find that their products always deliver. The texture is the same of the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch which I use as a primer every day underneath my make-up. The self-tanning version glides onto the skin really easily leaving behind a very subtle glow but still noticeable. I usually use this 2-3 times a week and apply it before I go to bed after my usual skincare routine. In the morning you don't wake up with a really deep tan but my skin looks slightly deeper in colour and has an instant glow. I've gone through nearly an entire pot of this over the past few weeks and will definitely be repurchasing when it's empty.

Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy Gel Wash

I'm constantly changing my daily face wash as I always come across such great new ones from Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish to Ren Cleansing balm. At the moment I have settled with this Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy Gel Wash which I use after I have used a make-up wipe to remove anything left behind on my skin. This smells absolutely incredible - a really strong mix of different fruits which feels instantly refreshing as soon as you start working it into the skin. I'm not one for daily exfoliators as I find them too rough against my skin so this light gel wash is really soothing but also does the job of getting everything out of your pores. I tend to use high end products on my skin as I don't mind paying for the quality but this is an example of how cheaper drug store products can sometimes do just as good of a job!

Botanics Radiant Youth Night Cream

Before I purchased the Botanics Radiant Youth Night Cream I had read many rave reviews about the entire Botanics range so was expecting good things. I have to say this particular product definitely lived up to my high expectations. I've never got into the habit of using a night cream before bed as I'm usually too tired or just tend to clean my face well and that's that. However, I find this night cream to be really light on the skin so it doesn't leave behind a greasy residue in the morning and really does improve the radiance of the skin. My skin has become softer since using this night cream and it has also reduced the darkness of the circles beneath my eyes which is a bonus. I can't quite work out the scent of this product but for some reason it reminds me of green tea or something along the tea lines? If anyone can confirm this I would be highly grateful!

Top Hair Products 2012

(from left to right):
Schwarzkopf Got2B Big Volume Hairspray
Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray
VO5 Moisture Soak Elixir Hot Oil
John Frieda Full Repair Deep Conditioner
Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume
Tresemmé 24 Hour Body Plumping Powder

We all know how much I love my hair to be as big and as thick as possible, so when it comes to hair products these are the two main ingredients I look for. I also wear fitted hair extensions by Great Lengths which are bonded to the hair using a heat formula technology. I've been wearing these for about 2 years now and have them replaced every 6 months so a product which softens the extensions is also key too. I've rounded up my top hair products which I've been using over the past year or so and have had an impact on my hair.

Schwarzkopf Got2B Big Volume Hairspray

The problem with hairspray is that many can be too sticky or too heavy on the hair. Schwarzkopf Got2B Big Volume Hairspray is a really light hair spray which sets onto my hair more like a dry shampoo so doesn't make the hair look greasy even if you use layers upon layers. Even though it is lighter than most hairsprays, it still keeps the hair set in place and doesn't weigh the hair down. The hairspray also has a gorgeous strawberry scent so doesn't leave your hair with that horrible aerosol smell. I've used so many hairsprays and this is the only one that really suits my hair type, so if you like your hair big and bouncy with a nice added scent this is highly recommended!

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray

I only purchased the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray about a month ago and it has already made it's way into my haircare routine. The spray is designed to give your hair that extra volume along with added heat protection and control. I spray this into my towel-dried hair section by section and then blow dry as I usually would. This has definitely made a big difference to my hair, I find it has much more bounce and volume at the roots as well as a smoother finish. I also sometimes use the Bumble and Bumple Prep spray before the Thickening Hairspray just to give the hair a good base.

VO5 Moisture Soak Elixir Hot Oil

I don't think I can possibly count how many times I have repurchased this product but let's just say it's a lot! The VO5 Moisture Soak Elixir Hot Oil is a pre-shampoo hair treatment which I use in the shower probably around once or twice a week. Due to having long, thick extensions I probably use more than the recommended amount but I think this depends on your hair type. I tend to apply this just to the ends and work upwards slightly as I think it could make the roots quite greasy. As soon as I wash it out after a minute or so I can feel how incredibly soft it has made my hair. For such a cheap and convenient product, this has done wonders for my hair and is highly recommended for anyone who wears extensions.

John Frieda Full Repair Deep Conditioner

Deep conditioners are a bit of a nightmare for me. I've tried sooo many and most just tend to make my hair really oily or greasy and don't improve the condition in the long term. I use this John Frieda Full Repair Deep Conditioner about once a week just to improve the condition and decrease the dryness of my extensions. I tend to just apply it to the ends of the hair and across some of the shorter layers as many deep conditioners can cause the roots to become greasy. I find this is the only conditioner that really works into my hair and gives it that soft salon finish which we all look for! It's also great for repairing really damaged hair especially if you apply lots of heat to your hair as it gives added protection.

Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume

When it comes to dry shampoo we all know that Batiste is the Queen Bee of them all! I've never really tried any other brand of shampoo as this one gives me everything I need. The Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume is my go-to when my hair is either feeling way to clean and needs some added texture or slightly greasy at the root. Personally, I hate freshly washed hair as it just hangs limp and won't stay in place so I use this dry shampoo to give it that texture feeling which makes it easier to backcomb and style. I used to use the original dry shampoo but I find the XXL Volume really does give my hair added volume and bounce. I also use it before I put in my heated rollers for a night out as I find it keeps the curls in tact and gives the root more stability and lift.

Tresemmé 24 Hour Body Plumping Powder

Tresemmé 24 Hour Body Plumping Powder is the ultimate product for added volume, texture and lift all in one go. I tend to sprinkle this over the roots of my hair separated into sections once I have straightened, rolled or curled it. I then use a small brush or comb to backcomb my hair and the plumping powder helps to keep the backcombing in place as it stiffens the hair at the root. Do be careful to brush or rub this product into the root though as you don't want to be left with a white residue! I've tried the VO5 Give Me Texture powder and I really do think the Tresemmé one has the upper hand.

Daytime Disco

cardigan: topshop (old)

disco pants: american apparel
boots: topshop
waist belt: french connection (sample sale)
necklace: topshop
watch: michael kors
ring: topshop
nails: M&S Autograph 'kingfisher'
lips: topshop 'beguiled'

I can't believe my first internship is over and I'm back at home for Christmas, that all happened far too quickly for my liking! I was actually really sad leaving French Connection today, I'd really got into my comfort zone with the company and the team so moving somewhere new will be so strange. This is what I wore for my last day at the office, thought I'd jazz things up slightly and wear my disco pants during the day (crazy kid!). I usually wear them to dinners or drinks but they are actually dead comfortable to wear in the daytime. I also think they are really flattering considering I have quite short legs and I feel they flatter my shape more than my AA lycra leggings do. I paired them with this sheer cream t-shirt which is pretty old but always comes out my drawers now and again. I never really wear plain t-shirts so placed this rose gold, silver and gold statement necklace to add a little something extra. I also wore my oversized aztec print cardigan over the top which is donkeys years old but is one of those pieces that will never really go 'out of fashion'.

I think I featured these new boots on a previous post but didn't mention anything about them. I bought them the other weekend from Westfield after much deliberation and now I'm so in love with them. I was slightly afraid they would make my feet look long! I've been wearing my AA dancing shoes religiously every day so these are a part-time replacement.

I won't be doing an outfit post tomorrow as I have a busy day but I really want to carry on with my top-rated posts as I still need to do skincare and haircare. I also want to do a post about products that I repurchase so basically my all time favourite products as a round up. So much to do but so little time! Where has 2012 disappeared to?!

Gold leaf lace

jumper: american apparel
blouse: mango
trousers: french connection (sample sale)
dancing shoes: american apparel
necklace: new look
ring: topshop
bracelet: h&m
watch: michael kors
nails: M&S Autograph 'kingfisher'

It's officially 1 week till Christmas today, yay! Sorry for the festive outburst! I'm never usually very excited about this time of year but being away from home and moving somewhere so big has made me look forward to cosy nights in with my family. It is also my last day working at French Connection tomorrow which I'm really sad about. I've had such a great experience and learnt so many new things, and definitely taken advantage of the freebies and sample sales! Today I wore these lace floral printed trousers which I bought in the sample sale yesterday. I'm crazy about print at the moment so these suit my current style. I especially like this floral print because it's different to all the gothic/ baroque styles around at the moment and they could be switched up to be worn in the Summer. I paired it with this white studded blouse and layered my AA fisherman knit jumper over the top to keep me toasty. This is one of my all time favourite jumpers, I love the style of knit and the yarn doesn't itch or scratch so it's perfect.

Today also marked the day of the return on my turnip! I haven't worn my hair like this for so long, I've been wearing a pony tail most days because the tubes are so windy but I'm bringing it back. I'm really looking for a new day hair style at the moment. I love Grace and Braver's hair tutorials so might take some inspiration from those, if you haven't already take a look they're incredible and really simple to follow!
