I was completely oblivious for the majority of the day that today was actually Halloween, oops! I'm usually the first one to get my outfit sorted and love dressing up but I think my mind has been completely taken over by work, work and more work! Walking around Camden Town today I did see some fairly scary sights, the best I could do was a skull scarf and bracelet I'm afraid. I've had a real love/ hate relationship with this coat - when I first bought it I loved it (and the fur stole attached) but I found the fit really weird after a while as it slipped off the shoulders and bagged out at the back. However, after trying it on again this morning (1 year later) I've grown to love it! I think since the whole 'boyfriend' jacket style has emerged recently it's changed my view on the shape of this coat. Who knows, by next week I could go back to hating it! I also wore this really old tartan sleeveless shirt and my red/ beige McQueen scarf which I usually bring out during the Winter season. I have to admit, I did feel rather festive in this mainly red ensemble!

Just a quickie as I'm off out for a lovely meal with some friends in Clapham! This is what I wore to work today, my new freebie black faux fur coat which I've been dying to get my hands on. I nearly bought a really similar one from Topshop and thank god I didn't as it was around £100. The faux fur is incredibly soft and I love the oversized fit, perfect with skinny jeans and a nice heeled boot. I also wore this sheer print top which is really old but I love the open-back detailing and the way it falls off the shoulders. I've officially entered the world of jeans, I'm a converted woman! In all fairness, I've only got this one pair which are so comfortable they barely feel like jeans but I'm definitely going to purchase another pair soon - possibly black. Anyway, hope everyone has a lovely evening!

Incredibly exhausting day topped off by walking home in the rain without an umbrella, not ideal! Currently sporting the 'drowned rat' look but at least it wasn't at the beginning of the day. You may remember from a previous 'Today I bought' post I featured a Topshop mac coat with leather sleeves. Well, I decided to return this as I wasn't getting as much wear out of it as I'd hoped and swapped it for this boyfriend style slouchy blazer. I saw a girl at the tube station the other day wearing a similar one so once I saw this in Topshop I snapped it up. It pretty much goes with everything and is super comfortable, I can see this quickly becoming my new favourite! I picked up this silk diamond print t-shirt in a sample sale at the office on Friday. I think it was originally priced at something ridiculous like £55 and I paid £4 so it was a definite bargain! I paired it with my classic AA lycra leggings which I rolled up at the ankle to emphasise my new babies! I've been looking for these dancing shoes for the past 2 months and nowhere seemed to have my size, not even online. I managed to put these on hold at the store in Carnaby Street and picked them up on Saturday. I also got 2 free pairs of laces with them so I chose this nude/peach shade and a deep purple/ red wine shade. I think the style of them is so cute and they are an easy everyday shoe which still look smart.

I also got round to changing my nail polish and decided to use my free AA polish which I got when I signed up to the newsletter in store, random I know! I chose this grey/lilac shade which is a really neutral colour for during the day and painted my third finger with the sequin style 'Galaxy' polish just to make them a bit different. I saw a photo recently on Tumblr of a sequin manicure so this kind of inspired me!

I have been horrifically spoilt at work today and was allowed to clear out all the old samples and pick whichever ones I wanted before they got taken back to the warehouse. I chose some absolute beauties including the softest black fur coat I have ever seen! I may do a post on some of the things I have bought/ been given recently but it's just getting the time to collect everything together and photograph it all so it may not be till next week. I will try my very best!

Mexican wave

jacket: zara
t-shirt: topshop
skirt: american apparel
boots: topshop
necklace: topshop
lips: louise gray @ topshop 'mexican wave'
nails: barry m 'raspberry'

This is probably my favourite outfit of the week, I've never really experimented with wearing maxi skirts during the Winter as I've just always assumed they were more of a Summer garment. I paired my sheer black maxi with thick black tights and black knicker shorts underneath so that you still get the effect of the sheer fabric without being able to see through it. I also wore my oversized grey t-shirt with rolled sleeves that is quite long so this also covered part of the skirt and created a very relaxed and boyish look. My Adonis boots also add a biker feel to the outfit combined with my khaki/ leather sleeve jacket which is getting a bit old now but I still love it.

I bought this 'Mexican Wave' lipstick by Louise Gray when the collection was first released, I wasn't too impressed by the rest of the products but loved this. The colour is a very bright orange/ red which glides along the lip easily created a full colour which stays on really well throughout the day. Although, eating my sandwich in Pret was rather difficult, managed to get it all down my chin and on my neck?! Who knows! I was mega lazy last night and didn't change my nails, however today I was given a free American Apparel nail polish with my purchase and got to choose from a few colours so shall be using that tonight!

Tiger face

t-shirt: topshop
cardigan: topshop
shorts: levi's @ urban outfitters
boots: topshop
bracelets: h&m
watch: michael kors
nails: barry m 'raspberry'

I'm slightly late uploading this one as I ended up meeting my brother last night and going for a lovely meal so didn't have a spare minute to post. I wore this a couple of days ago just for a standard day at work and felt so cosy in my stole and knitted cardigan! I haven't worn this cardigan much since I bought it about a month ago, I don't know why because I love grey marl and studs but it's just been hibernating at the back of my wardrobe. Now I've worn it and realised how comfortable it is, it will definitely be making many more appearances. I also wore this tiger face t-shirt which I bought probably over a year ago, but now all these animal face items have come into fashion so it's made a return. I've also ordered a similar style t-shirt with a growling dog on the front, much like the Givenchy one which I wish I could afford!

I don't often wear denim shorts during the day or in Winter because I don't really like them with black tights and they aren't comfy if you're at work but I thought I'd give them a go. I really want a pair of acid wash Levi's shorts but every time I go into Urban Outfitters they never seem to have any left so I may go hunting in some vintage shops this weekend.

I must apologise for having the same colour nails for far too long now, as much as I adore this raspberry shade it really is time for a change. I might re-do them tonight if I have a chance and opt for either OPI 'Skull & Gloss bones' which is a light grey shade or Chanel 'June' which is a peachy nude shade, thoughts?

Diva moment

top: zara
jeans: topshop
boots: zara
necklace: topshop
lips: mac 'diva'
nails: barry m 'raspberry'

This is actually the first time since I've moved down to London that I've made the effort to wear my hair down during work! I usually get up and just screw it on top of my head because otherwise I'll be messing with it all day and end up getting really hot on the tube. I gave it a few waves with my Babyliss curling tong and a spritz of dry shampoo so it had more texture and a bit of volume. I managed to keep it like this for half the day but after so much running around the city it just turned limp!

I bought this faux fur/ sheer t-shirt from Zara about 2 years ago and I've never seen anything in the store like it since. I don't wear it very often because I think it looks too 'fancy' for during the day, but paired with my Leigh jeans it creates more of a casual style. I've been converted into the world of jeans ever since I bought these the other week. I love the acid wash finish and the fabric is really soft so it doesn't actually feel like you're wearing denim. I also wore my favourite studded boots which tend to kill the balls of my feet but they're just so pretty!

Today was also the return of my favourite winter lipstick 'Diva'. I used to wear this all the time last year ever since the 'gothic lip' trend emerged and I'm glad it's come back around again! The only problem with wearing a dark shade like this during the day is it tends to smudge when I eat/ drink so needs a lot of retouching throughout the day. However, this will not stop me from wearing it! I also found a really nice dark shade in the Mac Marilyn Monroe collection called 'Deeply Adored' but they've sold out of it everywhere so looks like I'm not getting my hands on that anytime soon!

Trapezoid love

jumper: topshop
skirt: topshop
boots: topshop
bag: zara
necklace: mango
cuff bracelet: h&m
ring: topshop
nails: barry m 'raspberry'
lips: mac 'pure zen'

Shame on me, my entire outfit is from Topshop! It's funny because I don't actually purchase that many clothes from there anymore but every time I find myself writing my outfit posts the majority of my clothes are Topshop. I definitely need to venture out more with my choice of shops! I do love this heart jumper though, it reminds me of the ripped Wildfox ones that are around at the moment, they are the same lightweight knitted fabric and really easy to wear. I'm having one of those weeks where you just constantly feel bloated, I'm sure every girl out there can relate! So I'm afraid most of my outfit posts this week will probably consist of baggy jumpers and anything remotely comfortable. I paired the jumper with my grey marl skater skirt and usual Adonis boots which I haven't taken off for the past month. I'm not sure how keen I am of the necklace with the outfit, looking through the photographs it doesn't look as good as I thought but oh well, too late now!

Finally, the love of my life arrived on the weekend - my Zara trapezoid bag! And it's more lovely in person that I could've imagined. I love the boxy messenger shape and the gold pyramid stud detailing at the clasp. It's the perfect 'everyday' bag and can replace my previous Zara messenger bag which is now really tatty and covered in foundation!

I'm feeling like a really lazy week as I know work is going to completely tire me out so apologies in advance if I don't post as much as usual. I've been pretty up to date with outfit posting and haven't bought that may new things recently so I keep repeating outfits quite a lot lately. London is literally draining my bank account and Christmas is only round the corner so it's time to start saving!

Oxblood

cardigan: h&m
stole: topshop (taken off a coat)
jumper: topshop
skirt: river island
boots: topshop
necklace: topshop
cuff bracelet: h&m
ring: topshop
lips: mac 'pure zen'
nails: barry m 'raspberry'

This is a proper Winter outfit today, all I care about was layers, layers and more layers! It wasn't even that cold today but the design studio is always chilly and there's nothing better than cosy knitwear to keep you warm. I bought this gold jumper from Topshop last year and I always pull it out from time to time when I want to wear a jumper that's warm but doesn't give you that horrible itchy feeling. I paired it with my dark burgundy cardigan and a fur stole which I detached from an old Topshop boyfriend style coat from last Winter. The coat had a really bad fit where the shoulders didn't fit right so I end up just wearing the stole on top of other coats or cardigans. I also wore my faux-leather skater skirt which I'm really loving at the moment, it's a good change from my AA leggings and matches well with my beloved Adonis leather boots. These have been a saviour since moving to London because not only are they so comfy but they save my little feet from being trod on amongst the busy tubes!

I also got round to changing my nail polish to this lovely dark raspberry shade. I'm definitely feeling festive this year for the first time in my life so I'm bringing out the dark polish and soon my dark lipstick. I gave my new Mac lipstick a go which I featured in yesterday's 'Today I bought' post, it's a little glossier than I imagined but this actually prevents my lips from drying out. I love the light peachy shade for during the day, it adds a little something rather than my usual paler than pale nude Barry M '154'.

Today I bought #41

tartan coat: river island
contrast mac coat: topshop
grey jumper: american apparel
cream quilted jumper: zara
cream embellished jumper: zara
jeans: topshop
bandage dress: french connection (sample sale)
sequin dress: french connection (sample sale)
lipstick: mac 'pure zen'
eyeshadow palette: Clarins 'Odyssey' palette
mascara: Yves Saint Laurent 'Shocking' mascara
trainers: topshop

Excuse the bad quality/ creased clothing featured in most of these photographs! I am not used to doing my own ironing and yet to find a good spot in my flat to photograph my new items where I can hang them up properly as well. As you can see, I've been on quite the spend since I've moved down to London...in my defence these have been purchased over the last month and it's so hard being surrounded by the best shops all the time.

I bought two new Winter coats as travelling around London can often be quite chilly - I love the tartan coat with the fur stole, it's so comfortable and easy to wear. As much as I love the cream Mac style coat I've only worn it once so I'm considering returning it, seems a lot for £72 if I'm not wearing it religiously. I've also bought quite a few jumpers as the office I work in is absolutely freezing. My favourite has to be the cream embellished Zara jumper which I featured in my previous blog post. I also love the grey AA fisherman jumper which has flecks of colour within the yarn, I've wanted it for ages and finally bit the bullet last week. Since working at French Connection I've attended a few sample sales where you can get dresses like these for £10 whereas they are usually worth at least £120 in the shop. I have bought a few more than this but haven't had the time to photograph them all! At least my outfits for my next few nights out towards Xmas are sorted!

I always find that all my make-up runs out at the same time and I hate spending money on it but it has to be done! I swear my this YSL mascara, it stays on my eyes really well, never clumps and lasts a lifetime which is good enough for me. I also love this new Mac 'Pure Zen' lipstick, it's the perfect nude/ light coral shade which I have searched for over the years at Mac but they never seemed to produce a shade like this before. I'm pretty sure they've all sold out now as it was a limited collection but you could still try online. I'm not really a 'trainer' girl and tend to wear boots or pumps during the day so these were a bit of an impulse buy but I've actually worn them quite a lot. I love the colour of the leather with the matching stud detailing and sometimes running around London requires this type of footwear!

Arm candy

jumper: zara
jeans: topshop
shoes: topshop
earrings: topshop
bracelet: h&m
ring: topshop
nails: topshop 'mannequin'

Today was definitely the first day of Winter, I've been shivering all day even though I wore this with my big fur tartan River Island coat. I've been drinking about 10 cups of tea throughout the day to keep me warm and I'm still sat in bed wearing 3 layers, where did the Summer go?! I know what you're thinking...not another cream jumper! This is my last one, honest! I bought this yesterday whilst on a little shopping trip with my boyfriend. It's cream, knitted and covered in embellishments so it pretty much has me written all over it. I love the sequin, crystal and pearl detailing on the arms, I think they have used just the right amount as if it had reach further up the arm it would've been a bit too much on the eye. I paired it with my new acid wash Leigh jeans which are the comfiest jeans in the world. I'm not usually jean person - I find they cut me off in all the wrong places and never fit right. However, the fabric used for these is so soft in comparison to usual denim that they have more stretch and are easier to wear. I'm on the look out for a nice pair of black jeans, I saw some ombré faded ones in Urban Outfitters but the denim fabric is thick so I'm not sure I'd really wear them, any recommendations?
