PYT

blouse: topshop
bandeau dress: zara
cardigan: topshop
boots: topshop
earrings: urban outfitters
rings: both topshop

At last I've finally got round to doing an outfit post! The spot where I usually do them in my student house has no bulbs left so I've resorted to the corridor by our bathroom. I have been reunited with my favourite Topshop cardigan which I actually wore in my first ever blog post and still love it to this very day. It's really big and cosy plus the print has a kind of vintage vibe which I like. I also wore this long-sleeved blouse which has cut-out shoulders and is a lovely nude/ peach colour which I bought about 6 months ago. I have no idea why my boots always look so red in photographs, it must be something to do with the settings on my camera but they're actually a deep burgundy colour in person.

I spent the day browsing around town and having a little mooch in the shops. I ended up buying a few plain crop tops from Topshop (surprise surprise!) and a skirt for tomorrow night so I'll get round to posting about them tomorrow. The workload is slowly piling up so I might not be blogging as much as usual but I'll try my best.

Today I bought #15

heels: topshop

No surprise there, they're from Topshop! I saw these on the website a while ago and went into town last week to buy them but they haven't come into the actual stores yet. I ordered them online as I was so desperate for them but I'm always really wary about buying shoes online because I'm a 5/6 so completely depends on the brand as to which size I'll be. The postman knocked on my door at 9am this morning and I have never shot out of bed so quickly! Luckily they're the perfect fit and for £65 I'd say they're a bit of a bargain considering these days a good pair of heels are usually around £80. I plan to wear these gorgeous babies on my birthday night next Saturday as they'll go perfectly with my dress.

I haven't been able to do any outfit posts this week due to work overload and looking a messy state pretty much everyday! I visited Bolton Abbey today for a university project and was absolutely dreading it but it was actually amazingly 'picturesque' and a really lovely day out. I'll be sure to post some of my designs along the way as well as a much promised outfit post next week.

Today I bought #14

st moriz self-tan: home bargains

This may look a little extreme but I've been deprived of St. Moriz over the holidays as I always buy it when I'm in Leeds and have no idea where they sell it at home. I well and truly stocked up on it today to make up for lost time! I've tried sooo many fake tans and this is honestly the best one that I've come across. I find that Fake Bake doesn't stay on once you wash it off after the 6 hour development time and neither does St. Tropez. I always buy a mousse self-tan because moisturisers usually leave streaks and patches and the spray is just too messy. St. Moriz is priced at £2.99 and even though it sounds really cheap and tacky it actually stays on really well and produces a really nice golden tan. I buy the 'dark' shade but it's really not that dark once you've washed it off and it means you only need to repeat the process once or twice to get a good shade. Wonder how long these 5 bottles will last me...

Lusting after #12

bracelet: iwona ludyga

I adore this tiny gold skull bracelet by Iwona Ludyga, it's simple and classic so could be worn everyday as a staple jewellery item. I came across this designer a few times through other blogs and magazines but didn't really think the jewellery was my style as most of the designs are quite chic and simple. I usually go for the really over the top jewellery but I'm looking for a classic bracelet I can wear all the time and think this might be the winner. The bracelet is priced at $245 which is around £160 so it's fairly expensive but my birthday is coming up soon...hint hint mother!

Back to reality

jumper: topshop
shirt: american apparel
skirt: topshop
bow tie: diy
watch: michael kors
stone rings: topshop
heart ring: forever 21
ear cuff: topshop
nails: topshop mannequin

Nearly had a repeat of the other day where all of my items were from Topshop but closely avoided it by adding an American Apparel black shirt, phew! I bought this jumper a couple of days ago from the 'last chance to buy' section, I'd seen it around months ago but never got round to buying it. I love the textured knit with the beige tones (we all know how much I love my beige/nudes) and also it's made from cotton so isn't itchy. I've had this cross embellished skirt for a few months now and it always comes in handy when I fancy wearing something loose. I made the bow tie from a rectangle of black fabric and a piece of elastic years ago for a Halloween outfit but it looks cute with a buttoned up shirt as well.

I also bought this ear cuff the other day as I've been looking for a gold one everywhere but could only find silver. I think it was around £5-£7 which is usual Topshop standard and it stays on my ear really well which I was pretty surprised at. I'm heading back to Leeds tomorrow, got to spend the whole of tonight packing my entire wardrobe into one suitcase...not going to happen!

Why don't you?

jumper: topshop
shorts: topshop
necklace: topshop
rings: topshop
nails: opi ds classic

Decided to have a massive clear out yesterday because my wardrobe's and drawers are so rammed I end up just pulling out the items at the front. After 3 painful hours I was actually quite glad I did it because I came across so many clothes I completely forgot I had and even discovered some real oldies that I could start wearing again. I found this knitted jumper which I bought about 3/4 years ago and never wore but now I actually really like it. I love the messy striped style knit and the flash of neon that has been added to brighten the jumper up. I also found these leather shorts which I decided to do a bit of DIY on because they were way too big/ long. I took about 3cm off the legs and just left them raw and took away the lining and now they fit much better and don't look so bulky.

I've just realised that all these items are from Topshop...maybe I should consider venturing out and shopping at other places but I do love their clothes so much! In all fairness, lately I have been trying out different brands but Topshop will always be close to my heart. I stayed at my friend's student house last night and now it's got me all excited about going back to Leeds on Monday, just dreading leaving all the luxuries of being at home like hot food and constant heating!

WildFox White Label

Wild Fox White Label SS12

I don't usually post about new collections but I couldn't resist when I saw the Spring/ Summer 12 collection for Wildfox White Label, it literally blew me away. I pretty much want every single item. It is that good! I particularly love the nude body and cropped sweater combo and the Live Fast knitted tank dresses, I want them all in my wardrobe now. In all fairness, the prices for the brand aren't that bad. I'm on the website as we speak and the cropped sweaters are around £150 and the long sweaters are around £200 so the items aren't mega expensive but still pricey. Oh well, I'll keep on dreaming...

Lusting after #11

playsuit: river island
necklace: regal rose

I feel like I've spent the entire day travelling back and forth to London, but hopefully it will be all worth it. I had a quick pits-stop at Bicester on my way home but literally couldn't find a bean. The shops are mainly designer which I don't tend to buy from and also the stock was pretty limited after the Xmas period. In fact, it's probably a good job I couldn't find anything because my bank balance will thank me! As usual I'm doing my daily internet browsing and came across this black playsuit on the River Island site priced at £45 which I actually think it quite pricey. I'd expect this sort of price tag from Topshop but I always view River Island as slightly cheaper, maybe times are changing? I like the shape of the playsuit with the cut-out shoulders and the tassel waist belt adds an extra something for a night out.

I was also introduced to the jewellery brand Regal Rose by a friend recently which I can't say I've come across before. The jewellery is quite cheap, well cheaper than most high street stores and I managed to find this dainty turquoise cross necklace which would be nice for the upcoming season. It's priced at £10 so I may be tempted to order this online whilst it's in stock. I've also been after the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette everyone has been raving on about but they're not selling it in the shops yet so may have to purchase that online too.

Best I've ever known

jumper: marc cain
dress (underneath): topshop
shoes: jeffrey campbell
rings: topshop
watch: michael kors
nails: opi ds classic
lips: mac freckle-tone

Finally got round to doing an outfit post before I'm off for a lovely dinner with a friend, have to say I'm in a bit of a rush so don't have much time to write. I absolutely love this jumper (even though I'm wearing it as a dress), I love the low neckline and the bow-tie scarf which you can change to another scarf but I like the leopard print one that it came with to be fair. I have a slight confession...this is my mom's jumper but I couldn't resist stealing it, it's also incredibly soft and perfect for a cold winter night like tonight. I'm afraid I can't give you a price on the jumper as I doubt my mom has kept the receipt but it's Marc Cain so I'll do a bit of research. I also thought I'd put my Jeffrey Campbell's to use, although I've just looked outside and it looks a little icey so I might change my mind once I'm fully ready.

I got round to re-doing my nails and used my new OPI nail varnish which is a mink/gold glitter, the photo doesn't really do it much justice because it's so nice and sparkly in person. I also added some little colourful 3D pearls which I got from eBay on each third finger to create an accent nail. I'm off to London tomorrow so very much doubt I'll get round to posting as I'm leaving at 9am but wish me luck!

Today I bought #13

shoes: jeffrey campbell

I know every blogger in the entire world has a pair of Jeffrey Campbells at the moment but I couldn't resist these cream lace ones, they're just so beautiful! I've wanted a pair for a pretty long time but could never be bothered with ordering online in case they didn't fit and the whole faff of returning them. I saw these on Solestruck the other day but they had all sold out so you can imagine how much I screamed when I saw them in good old Harvey Nick's today! They were £100 which is really weird as the plain black leather Lita's are £110 so that slightly confused me. They don't have a massive range in there, just a few pairs of Lita's and some studded flats. I'm really scared about them getting completely trashed on a night out so I'm saving these bad boys for sophisticated venues - no drunken stumbling states.

Product review #2

vo5 hot oil: boots

Sorry this isn't an outfit post! I'm back in Leeds doing my exams and all my housemates are at home so there's nobody around to take photographs for me, I'll do some on the weekend when I'm back. Thought I'd continue with the product reviews as I've only done one. I bought this Vo5 Hot Oil from Boots last weekend as I've run out of my trusty Moroccan Oil and thought this would be a good/ cheap alternative. You use this hot oil whilst you are in the shower on wet hair but before you shampoo your hair leaving it on your hair for around 1 minute. You then wash it out and shampoo and condition your hair as normal and it aims to reconstruct damaged hair that is dry and 'rebellious'. I've only tried to product out once since I've bought it and obviously I wear extensions so the majority of my hair is not natural. However, when combing through my natural hair I did find it felt slightly softer but I'm guessing you may have to use this for a couple of weeks to notice a difference. It was pretty cheap, around £5-6 I think but I haven't got the receipt handy to double check. I'm gonna give it another go on Thursday when I next wash my hair and see if the results have improved.

Lusting after #10

shoes: deena and ozzy
crop top: topshop
sunglasses: retrosuperfuture

Arrived back in Leeds to a house full of random people and a fridge full of mould which has caused the house to absolutely stink...no place like home ey! I'm meant to be revising but have been putting it off by internet shopping as usual, not that I need anymore clothes at the moment but it's only browsing. I came across these heels on the Urban Outfitters website and loved the platform shape and crocodile skin texture. They're a bit over priced at £145 but I guess they would make a good statement shoe that you could wear with loads of outfits. I'm loving all these tight crop tops at the moment, I've been wearing the polo neck and t-shirt style ones by American Apparel. I like the racerback style of this one and I'm always attracted to this lilac pastel shade which is gonna be really popular this upcoming season, and at £6 it's a bargain! Lastly, I've been looking for a good pair of shades but I do struggle with finding ones that suit my face shape, these little round retro ones are cool but I usually suit larger frames. They're priced at £188 which is also way out my price range but a girl can dream!

Today I bought #12

twist dress: miss selfridge
fringe dress: dress up topshop
cardigan: alexander wang
shorts: the ragged priest
nail varnish: opi skull and glossbones and opi ds classic
lipsticks: mac party line and mac freckle tone
rings: topshop

These are the photographs of the stuff I bought whilst I was in London, didn't get around to posting these yesterday as I was swamped with revision and ended up having an early night. I'll start with the grey twist dress which I wore out the other night, it was £28 and I have one similar to this in a nude colour so I already knew I liked the shape with the cut-out sides. I think this shape is particularly flattering if you have a body shape like mine where you've got wide hips but a small waist because it emphasises your waist more. The fabric is a grey marl jersey which has a really soft texture but is slightly see-through. I am absolutely in love with the ombre fringe dress. I've never bought anything from the Dress Up Topshop section before as I usually think most of the dresses look a little over the top and tacky but this one is perfection. It was £75 which is a little pricey but I love the style of the fringing, this could be a potential option for the birthday dress I've been on the look out for.

I found the Alexander Wang cardigan in the sale at Harvey Nichols, it was reduced from £165 to £85 which I know is still a little pricey but for designer labels it's a bargain. Wang has always been one of my favourite designers, his simple silhouettes are so effortlessly 'cool' but still remain fashionable and innovative. The cardigan has a slouched hood and is probably just above knee-length with a really lovely draped shape that will look good over a simple mini dress. I also bought these studded Levi's shorts from Topshop, I was considering customising some myself but these really caught my eye due to the pointed studs so I just had to have them. They were £65 which I don't actually think is that bad as they're vintage Levi's, comparing them to the ones they sell in Urban Outfitters which are just plain.

I'm a big fan of OPI nail varnish, they're always a good quality, dry quickly and last long but I do have a habit of always buying more than one nail varnish at a time so these are a little harsh on my bank balance. They're priced at £10.50 in Selfridge's which I reckon is worth it because in my opinion they are the best brand around. I bought DS Classic which is a really glittery mink/bronze shade which is really dazzling when on the nail, and Skull and Glossbones which is a light grey/green shade that has a matte finish and is just a really unique colour that I haven't come across before. Lastly (I know this one has been a long one!) I bought Mac Freckle-tone which is a glossy nude shade and Party-line which is a dark red/purple to add to my large collection of Mac lipsticks. I was in a need of a new daytime shade and I'd been searching everywhere for the perfect dark red shade so I am finally satisfied... until next week when I want another one!

Capital L

dress: river island
jumper: forever 21
earrings: urban outfitters
chain ring: miss selfridge

Such a lovely weekend in London, I did shop a little more than I can afford to but the shops there are just so much better. I wore this outfit yesterday travelling down, I've posted about this shirt dress before because it's one of my favourites that I'm living in at the moment. I love the contrasting white collar with the golden button and also the cut of the dress as it's longer at the sides. I'm pretty sure this is meant to be a top that you wear over leggings or something but I'm short so it doesn't matter. I bought this jumper a while ago and I wear it quite often but I have to say it's not the softest of knits and sometimes I get a little uncomfortable if I don't wear something underneath.

I'm off for my last night out tonight with my friends before we all head back to uni for those dreaded exams. I bought a dress whilst I was in London that I'm going to wear tonight but hopefully I'll get round to doing a post tomorrow about everything I bought whilst I was there. I don't think I'll have time to do an outfit post tonight as I'm in a rush plus I don't really like posting 'going out' outfits. Not because they're incredibly revealing or anything, I just don't think they're that interesting as I don't tend to wear layers or many accessories.
