Lusting After #59

I'm trying to keep on top of my blogging as much as I can whilst finishing off all my University work but unfortunately I haven't been out and about much over the past few days so no outfit post! I've been procrastinating far too often by browsing some online shopping so it's no surprise I've found too many items that I want again...

I've also been a true Topshop lover and there's a fair few things I've spotted both in store and online that I've got my eye on. First up is this Topshop tropical bralet which just came onto the New In section of the website today. I already have this bralet in white but I think the tropical print is bang on trend and would look great with these white ripped Leigh jeans which I actually ended up ordering (oops!). I bought the white Joni jeans last week but I've still been after a ripped pair so hopefully these will be the perfect addition to my ever growing jeans collection. I'm also loving these Topshop printed Mom shorts which would be great for holiday/ festival season. I can imagine this looking great with some flatform sandals and a maxi kaftan!

Continuing with the tropical print theme is this River Island palm print crop top which I'm pretty sure has sold out in every size! I wish I'd picked it up whilst shopping a few weeks ago but hopefully it will come back into stock soon. I'm also loving these River Island flatform sandals which I actually bought in cream/ brown for my Marbella holiday a few weeks ago. I have to say they're incredibly comfortable and a great alternative to flat sandals if you feel like you need some added height.

I never tend to even look at Miss Selfridge anymore but I really like this grey racer front vest and dark grey racer front midi dress. This high-shaped neckline has been my favourite for some time now and the fact the items are both very plain and basic makes them great to accessorise with a large statement necklace or a bright handbag. Miss Selfridge also has a 20% student discount offer online at the moment so snap these up whilst you can!

I'm after a new handbag at the moment and love this Zara perforated neon shopper bag. It would really stand out and brighten up any outfit whilst also making the perfect size and shape for a beach bag. I'm also loving this Asos faux fur clutch bag to add to my faux fur bag collection! I love the mint green shade of the fur especially against the light grey leather. Lastly is this beautiful Ziba necklace which I've been eyeing up on their website! The Ziba jewellery collections are amazing with some seriously lovely statement necklaces so check out their website if you haven't so already here...

Plum's the Word

Even though I've got all my University deadlines coming up over the next month or so I'm really trying to post on here as often as I can! I've been blogging for such a long time now and spent a lot of time on it over the years so don't just want to let that go but it's hard to juggle the two. I can't wait until all of my work is handed in and I can fully focus on my blog. I'm definitely considering a new layout and lots of new style posts as well as a possible online shop!

Last weekend I went into Leeds City Centre for a little mooch around the shops but didn't really end up buying much other than a River Island necklace. I wore this Asos sheer panel t-shirt which I bought a few days ago, we all know I can't resist a bit of nude! I love the oversized fit of this t-shirt, it's really easy to wear with any style of jeans and is plain so can be dressed up with a statement necklace and a scarf. I've worn it with my new Topshop Joni cropped jeans which I also bought last week after spying them on the website. I've always loved the shape of Joni jeans and find they really suck you in at all the right places. I think this cropped white pair are a great addition to my Summer wardrobe and can be worn in so many different ways.

I'm also wearing this amazing statement necklace with bright lime gems which I actually bought from a market in Marbella that I visited whilst I was away. I actually had to hold back from buying every statement necklace under the sun and can you believe it was only 3 euros?! I also picked up this nude leopard print scarf which is subtle but effective. It's not great quality as it was only 4 euros but I can't resist a good bargain!

All White on the Night

I'm taking some time over the next few weeks to get some outfit posts on my blog as I feel so guilty for completely abandoning my blogging lately. It's ridiculously difficult to juggle blogging and a fashion degree as I'm sure many other fashion students can agree with! I've also spent the majority of my time just working inside my flat so haven't actually been getting dressed up or going out much. I officially finish my course at the end of May so you can expect lots more posts towards that time.

I bought this Topshop white jacket over a year ago when I was living/ working in London and I barely got much wear out of it. The tubes and buses were always so rammed I was scared of getting it marked then completely forgot I had it until I found it in my wardrobe the other day. It has a very straight fit and almost reminds me of a sort of lab style jacket, but nevertheless I think it's the perfect white jacket for Spring as it's lightweight and tends to go with pretty much anything. I've worn it with this Asos layered t-shirt which I bought a couple of months ago. I love the contrast between the ribbed neckline and the sheer fabric, it's a great mix between smart and casual with a simplistic sporty touch.

I've finally got round to doing my nails after giving them a rest during my holiday last week. I've chosen this plum shade by Sally Hansen which is definitely one of my favourite nail brands at the moment. I love the range of colours on offer (especially the vast shades of nudes!) and find the polish really stays on my nails well. I've opted for this rounder shape at the moment as I'm getting fed up of having square nails all the time. I tend to use the Kiss false nails which are available from Boots for around £6 as these are the best ones I've been able to source and have the strongest glue. What are your favourite falsies?

Lusting After #58

I've been completely obsessed with getting my design work done lately so I'm afraid my blogging has taken a major backseat until all of my deadlines next month! I've got a spare afternoon today so thought I'd gather together some of the bits and pieces I've been lusting after for the upcoming Summer season...

First up are a few items from River Island which I've only seen online and can't seem to find in any of the stores! I love this River Island blue lace peplum top, it would look great with some white skinny jeans and a chunky heel like these River Island wooden block sandals. I actually tried to pick these up today as they're sold out online but no shops seem to have any left in a size 5. I'm also in love with this River Island floral coat which doesn't come cheap at £95. I'm completely torn over this coat because as much as I love the print, it could be quite limiting to wear and for £95 I would definitely want to get a lot of wear out of it!

Next up is some pieces from Topshop including these nude/ white chunky Fernando sandals which I tried on in store today. I recently got back from Marbella and really struggled to find some nice sandals before I went, so these are definitely being snapped up before I return in July. I love chunky/ cleated soles at the moment but the fact they're white makes them incredibly difficult to clean! I always loved the shape and fit of Topshop Joni jeans and this stone washed beige pair would be a great addition to my growing collection. I love beige/ cream trousers at the moment as I think they really lighten up any outfit and give an immediately smart look. I also love these Topshop floral Mom shorts for the holiday season, I'm not usually a huge fan of denim shorts as I find them to be quite unflattering but I think the floral print on these would make them more wearable. I'm also loving this Whistles wide brim hat for the holiday season, I don't tend to wear hats on holiday but I think this Summer I'm going to try and protect my hair more to prevent the brassy tones appearing.

I'm graduating this July and I've already been on the look out for the perfect graduation dress. I've come across this Reiss dress which has a polo neck style with a pencil skirt fit. The colour scheme is right up my street with the cream/ beige combination, unfortunately the £245 price tag isn't so I can keep on dreaming! I'm also loving this Asos velvet choker which is actually by the Rock n Rose brand featured on the website. I love choker style necklaces at the moment and this stone pendant style necklace is different to any others I've seen on the high street. Lastly, I've been after a new evening bag for some time now and this Asos fringe bag would be the perfect choice for the upcoming season. I love the fringing detail and this lime/ yellow shade would go with so many items in my wardrobe whilst also adding a splash of colour to any simplistic outfits.

Be Jewelled

I'm pleasantly surprised with how quickly River Island has become my favourite shop over the past few months. I used to only really shop there now and then but after putting together some outfit posts I've realised that most of the more recent items I've bought are from there. I'm wearing a pair of River Island capri trousers which I bought via Asos to make use of the student discount so I'm not actually sure if you can buy these in store or on the River Island website. I've been looking for a high-waisted pair of cream trousers lately and at only £25 these fit the bill perfectly. I've worn them with this Asos fishnet vest which I very nearly purchased last week and then when I actually went to buy it a few days ago it had been reduced by 50%, it was obviously meant to be! I love the taupe shade of the top and the fishnet detailing gives it that added unique touch.

I'm loving all of the River Island statement jewellery at the moment and came across this amazing large jewelled choker style necklace the other day. I was really surprised that this was only £15 and as it was the only one left I had to buy it. I swear if this was in Topshop or a similar store it would be priced around at leas £25, am I right? I think this is the ideal statement necklace to immediately jazz up any outfit and could also be worn on night out with a plain crop top and pencil skirt to give the outfit a more dressed up feel.

Apologies for the severe lack of blogging over these past few weeks, I've been completely preoccupied with all of my university deadlines so haven't had any time to do much else! I've finally handed in my dissertation which is a massive weight off my shoulders but still have piles and piles of design work to be getting on with. Today I'm wearing this Zara panelled t-shirt which I bought a few weeks ago after spying it online. I really like the contrast between the nude fabric and panel centre panel, the little cut-out in the middle is a nice added detail which will look much better when I actually have a tan! I've worn it with my new Topshop Baxter ripped jeans which I bought over the weekend in Manchester. I've been looking for some good white jeans for a while now and these have been my favourite so far. I'm not too sure about the shape of the fit around the ankle, they're quite wide so don't took into my boots very well which I'm not a huge fan of.

I added to my ever-growing Mac collection over the weekend and purchased 'Blankety' which is a sort of dark mink/ nude tone with a slightly glossy finish. I'm sure that I owned this a few years ago and used it all up within weeks so this one probably won't be lasting me long either! I'm also wearing my Jacava 'Forever Yours' nail polish which is a very light and creamy pale pink tone, very subtle on the nail and perfect for the Spring/ Summer season. I'm raved on and on about how much I love Jacava nail polish so if you fancy checking out their website you can do so here!

Vanilla Slice

I'm super busy with my dissertation deadline at the moment so apologies for the lack of activity on my blog lately! I managed to take some quick photos before I left for uni this morning but the lighting in my flat seems to have got worse so I've had to edit them a little to make them slightly more clear. I bought this Zara jumper online after spotting in store, I love anything and everything nude and really loved the colour block style of the jumper. The bottom fabric is a non-stretch polyester which can be quite snug around the hips so I would recommend sizing up if you're interested in ordering this too. I'm also wearing my favourite River Island waxed jeans which have started to give a little lately! I need to put them on a super hot wash next time so they're nice and tight again but I'm not sure if that will actually work?

I've been obsessed with Jacava nail polish ever since I came across the brand a few years ago. I've tried and tested a few of the polishes before and I can honestly say they are some of the best on the market. The staying power is incredible and they also have an amazing range of colours to select from. I'm wearing 'Vanilla Slice' which is a very creamy shade of white with a slight yellow undertone. I haven't applied a top coat and you can even see in these photos just how well the finish is on the polish. I would highly recommend taking a look at their website if you haven't already here
